I would definately go for one of the Intel SSD's with latest firmware, haven't had an issue since I got my 120GB that boots up in less than 20 seconds. The easy optimizer tool that allows very quck and easy of TRIMing is one of the feature I think Intel has done well by.

I put to my g74sx a Crucial m4 256 SSD when i purchase it, like 3 months ago. Never had a problem, never a BSOD, also boot up in less that 20 seconds, works perfect.

I'm using a Kingston HyperX 240 and have had it for 3-4 months, no problems of any kind and very fast!

I run Vertex 3's in my machines including my G74.

I have a 128GB Crucial M4 in a self-built desktop with zero issues and super fast. For the lappy I plan on getting a 256GB Intel, Crucial, or Plextor mainly based on reviews and price.

Not sure why OP is looking for options since he/she already got the OCZ Vertex?

I've been using a Vertex 3 120 for about a month with no issues.
