Hi,

I bought the new ASUS ROG Zephyrus G GA532DU-AL005

This laptop is really recent : was referenced (released) on the 20th of June (found it on a seller website page).

Links related to it:
https://shop.hardware.fr/fiche/AR201903150066.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIno3WwJ6e4wIV pgrTCh3McAJQEAYYASABEgJukvD_BwE
on Asus website : https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/ROG-Zephyrus-G-GA502/HelpDesk_Download/

I'm on windows 10 64 bits home. there is the nvidia gpu and the integrated amd gpu.

i need to set my monitor refresh rate to 6O Hertz:

To resume, i'm unable to change the refresh rate through both nvidia panel control and nvidia inspector.

Regarding the only display available to change the refresh rate (the integrated gpu), i can only set the refresh rate to 48 Hertz:
https://imgur.com/a/4wzhQjd

The refresh rate options of integrated gpu seems to be shared with the refresh rate option of the nvidia gpu:
I can change the refresh rate of the integrated gpu as shown previously to 48Hertz. Then, in nvidia inspector, i put a fps limiter of 6O and i enabled vsync. When i start the game, the fps counter show constant 48fps so my monitor refresh rate when i use the game is 48 Hertz: and this is the value i set up regarding the integrated gpu. nvidia gpu seems to share same refresh rate as the one you set up for the integrated gpu. (and my game was starting for sure with nvidia gpu: i checked this).

Why the hell i can only set 48 Hertz..

I can't Believe that I can't set up my monitor to 60 Hertz.

Besides, when i open AMD Display Optimizations, it says "No graphic driver detected"
https://imgur.com/a/cV6oKIC

while the amd gpu is known as active and recognized in the Windows device manager.

I do believe that this issue will be fixed as soon as possible.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

a customer who would like to enjoy a smooth experience

All the reasons why i want to set to 60 Hertz are explained in details here: https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1155308/geforce-drivers/the-standard-nvidia-graphics-driver-is-not-compatible-with-this-version-of-windows/2/

you can go directly to the second page as i have no more problems with nvidia driver install.

NVIDIA Control Panel, Display, Change Resolution, Refresh Rate? If you don not see the Refresh Rate option then you need to reinstall the latest complete NVIDIA software.

This is an European Only model, having no OS installed. Your problem is probably as a result of how Windows 10 Home was installed without ASUS drivers. Did the store you bought this laptop from supply you with a Driver DVD or Driver USB?

No i hadn't any drivers delivered with my laptop but they all are on Asus website.

I took nvidia drivers from asus website: https://www.asus.com/us/Laptops/ROG-Zephyrus-G-GA502/HelpDesk_Download/?_ga=2.33086970.557608214.1562334358-1407733233.1562334358

Regarding the nvidia control panel, I don't have any display options:

ASUS has no ASUS Download Center website for this model yet. The link you are providing is for a different model.

As far as I can determine the graphics component in the Rysen CPU are not functional, only the NVIDIA chip.

Go to NVIDIA support website and download the latest drivers for your GTX 1660 TI GPU.

I believe the warranty you have is between you and the store you bought it from. The store then works out repair with ASUS.

Good Luck

I was curious about the fact it's written GA502 in the asus website support page while it's written GA502D on the box of my laptop.

But i though it was ok with GA502 support page.

Are you sure there is no support page yet ? why release a product if there is no support page ???

Thanks

YOU listed your laptop as being a ASUS ROG Zephyrus G GA532DU-AL005 not a ASUS ROG Zephyrus G GA502DU.

YOU bought this laptop with NO OS or ASUS supported drivers and software.

Can you even register this laptop with ASUS?

i tried my serial number with both 10 characters and more: https://www.asus.com/me-en/support/article/566/

i also check when it was a zero and not the letter O, but my Serial number is not recognized.

For sure, i did'nt mistyping and i can't send an email through the contact page of asus because of this:
https://www.asus.com/support/Product/ContactUs/Services/questionform/?lang=fr-fr

i may contact them with the email from: https://www.asus.com/fr/Terms_of_Use_Notice_Privacy_Policy/Privacy_Policy/
privacy@asus.com

Do you have a better mail ? as i'm not sure it's the good department.

Thanks

Edit: i managed to Register

You have no ASUS support!

Your only recourse is through the store you bought the laptop from.

What are you complaining about?

Your laptop is covered with a two year warranty with the store that sold it.

That store works with ASUS not you.

Problems with your laptop are worked between you and the store, NOT ASUS.

Don't like it.....return it to the store....get a refund.

This is the biggest problem with a laptop without OS.

"What am i complaining about ?" how you dare to say that ?

Since when it's the job of the reseller to set up minimal informations about a laptop?

ROFL

you work for Asus ?

NO

You bought a laptop with no OS or software.

You are having OS and software issues.

You are at fault here, not ASUS......or even me.

The way I see it, you got what you paid for.

Good Luck

Asus support Tell me that the the GA502 page is the good support page while in this forum ppl tell me the opposite

https://www.asus.com/Laptops/ROG-Zephyrus-G-GA502/HelpDesk_Download/

my list of complains towards Asus:

Firstly PC not devliered with any manual or note to know the support driver page.
Secondly, PC not delivered with any manual or note to know the support driver page.
Thirdly, wrong tutorials
And no any Asus employee to counter any wrong assistance like this was the case in this thread.

Yes, wrong tutorials to know the model of your PC (so you can search for a support page)

https://www.asus.com/fr/support/article/565

This tutorial is 90% false => Except for the bios and the system informations methods, all the others method you gave are wrong (or obsolete but it's the same)
With those wrong info, the user is unable to search for a support page in the search area of the top right menu of Asus website.

Even if you type the model name that the bios or Windows info system gave to you => in my case,
GU502DU is listed after you type it in the searchbar:
https://imgur.com/a/d7bjOfb

THEN, when you click you are then on the GA502 support (who is the correct support page)

which is not GU502DU (the correct model name) or GA532DU (the model name of our model if we follow your wrong tutorial ..)

How is the user supposed to go to the support page with all those insane wrong and hidden informations (+lack of crucial infos) ?

It's just unbelievable.

And then you ask for help and you get people that troll you.

You are doing great PC Asus for sure but you should really improve the way ppl are guided (not guided actually) towards the good support page, maybe just add a note with the support web page in the laptop box and maybe update your tutorials.

Kind regards,

a Customer who had becoming salty:mad: and this is understandable

( big lack of informations, wrong informations).

Well, if you have followed my profile, you will see I have many forum posts on many subjects.

I never questioned what ASUS model you had, you identified it in the title of your forum post I know when I put in your model in the ASUS Download Center (ASUS ROG Zephyrus G GA532DU-AL005 or ASUS ROG Zephyrus G GA532DU) a like model is not listed (GA532DU). Then when you were unable to register your laptop using your serial number, I figured ASUS had not placed a support page for your model. I have already alerted ASUS personnel as to this problem.

For ASUS model identification I prefer to use the DirectX Diagnostic Tool (dxdiag.exe) method.

I posted my DirectX Diagnostic Tool example below:

Please post yours.

There's good reason I want to know both the DirectX model number and BIOS number. Sometimes the BIOS number is the only way to determine what model you have. ASUS is real bad about naming like laptops and only the BIOS separates the models. Some share BIOS but you never know what changes there are between BIOS editions.

BIOS 205 is not on the GA502 page. I'm pretty sure the GA532 is a different model and you are very lucky the BIOS 207 didn't hurt your laptop. I hope you kept a copy of your original BIOS as I would strongly suggest you restore it.

I have DirectX12.

no problem then,

Asus support told me it was the good support page….

and by the way Bios 205 there might be a Reason if the Bios205 is not in the page: it's the state of the Bios when the laptop is released (it's a new laptop).

stop to propage anxiety ?

or maybe Call Asus and tell them they are wrong then.

This is terrific to see that Asus completely doesn't care about their forums and never here come to calm down ppl.

The only thing you do since the beginning is propaging anxiety.

at the moment you are saying that Asus call assistance gave me a wrong support page ?

PROOVE IT

This is a German website that has copies of ASUS Driver DVDs. I noticed the other day that it now has one for the GA502DU. Use your browser translator to translate the site. The downloads are in English.

https://www.asustreiber.de/downloads/download/60-windows-10/830-ga502du-treiber-dvd

Download, unzip, mount, and rename to eSupport folder, moving it to your OS drive. Then go into the folder and find AsInWiz.exe (ASUS Installation Wizard). Run the wizard to install all the ASUS drivers and programs for the laptop. Keep a copy of this eSupport folder separate from your laptop for future OS rebuilds.

If, when you run the ASUS Installation Wizard it doesn't work, I think that confirms laptop model difference.

Good Luck

I downloaded the file and looked at the release note file:

This is a customer discussion forum, not an official support channel. I'm a customer, you're a customer, JD is a customer. If you don't like talking to us you don't have to. To reach ASUS you have to deal with phone support.

Right now you are the one "spreading anxiety" with all your raging. It's not productive. JD tried to help you. Maybe his advice wasn't helpful to you. Just ignore it and move on.

I really do hope you are able to resolve the issues with this machine. It's not fun to buy new hardware and have it be buggy. Just tone it down a bit please.
