The Purpose of this thread is to give bios settings to serve as a simple guide to help others achieve similar clocks. Overclocking is processor dependant as well other factors like type of cooling used. Not every processor clocks the same but as others post in this thread perhaps everyone will be able to acheive a desired overclock.:)

All Post Must Contain The Following

1) System setup:

Processor & OC Speed (batch/stepping optional)
Motherboard & Bios Rev
Memory
GPU/s & Clocks (Stock, etc)
Case & Power Supply
Cooling (Air, Water, etc)

2) Picture of System

3) Bios Template with settings used to acheive overclock

See attachments for some bios templates

4) Proof of Stability

A screenshot of Completed LinX (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=201670) run (Minimum 20 passes with at least 2 Gigs of system memory) or an 8 hour prime (http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft/) run. Screenshoot must contain three instances of CPUz displaying CPU tab, Mainboard tab, and Memory tab.

Screen shots Of popular benchmarks such as 3DMark 06, 3DMark Vantage, 3Mark 11, Heaven 2.1 & Cinebench 11.5 are encouraged but not required.

So last weekend at the Intel LAN here in Nor Cal, I tried my hand at the over clocking competition. I have a i7 975 Proc and I went from a stock 3.3GHz to a stable 4.6GHz! Not the best I've done, but I'm very excited about it :D

atm 1.43v core for more stability :D but could run prime for few hours before crash on 1.4v :D
Its not max just need to wait for tuning plan to kick in on end of may and will see what can i get BF3 stable :D

Temps got a little high for my liking but what can i expect stress testing for an hour on air cooling
also if anyone happens to be flipping through my BIOS settings and has any tips that could help me improve my OC then i would be very appreciative!

The-Seabigbear, for 24/7 use I would leave it as it is now... for running certain benchmarks, you could push a little bit more but your temps are getting close to the safe max border...

Good! :cool: But as I said, certain benchmarks won't raise the temps as much as prime95 does... so, if you still want try them... During everyday usage, you won't even get close to the prime95 temps either...

It looks like I need around 1.45v for 5GHz but the temps are too high. De-lidding will solve it for sure. I guess 4.9GHz is pretty good

I know that this isn't in the official format but I have gotten my MVF w/ i7 3770K stable at 4.9GHz @1.398v @67.5ºC. Are these normal numbers for this kind of setup??? Any tips to push it farther or is this about as far as I can go with this setup....

My first attempt at OCing, started a couple hours after fooling around with CPU Level Up.

BIOS template coming after stability testing


I'm hunting down little screws to put my second 680 together with the stock cooler so I can get the whole rig assembled on air. The PSU is a temporary solution: in a couple days my SS-860 Platinum comes in and that'll be what powers the whole thing and lets me OC all components versus one at a time selectively. I'm curious if I'll still be able to hit the power and reset buttons with the second graphics card in place...
