Hey guys,

Armoury Crate V2.7.8.0 was just released this week.
You can check the version under Settings=>About. The software should update automatically, you can do it manually from there if it has not already.

Here are the release notes, highlighting the key updates since V2.6.14.0

Where is the theme for Aura Creator?

When will the list of supported devices in Aura Creator already be replenished?
We are waiting for such devices as:
Asus ROG Aura Terminal / Asus ROG Strix GTX 1xxx series, etc.

Aura Creator does not offer different themes like Armoury Crate.
Currently, there isn't support for those 2 products. (GTX 16XX cards are supported though)
As far as I know, Aura Terminal will not be supported in Creator, but not sure if the GTX 1XXX cards will. Which one do you have?

Biggest problems right now:

Rog Claymore keyboard

1. Can not set any custom lighting effects.

2. Aura settings stop working if monitor goes to sleep, or if computer goes to sleep/resumes.

3. After reinstalling everything, Aura creator does not find Rog Claymore keyboard anymore.


After playing with Crate/Aura creator for some time, I have to go back to armory. And that is not working very well either with crashes/difficulties getting it to start back up again. Currently every software for this keyboard is in a really sorry state.

Aura Creator does not offer different themes like Armoury Crate.

As far as I know, Aura Terminal will not be supported in Creator, but not sure if the GTX 1XXX cards will. Which one do you have?

8. Clarify your issue as clearly as possible: Aura Sync settings are disabled when booting computer from cold. RAM does light up and is in sync, but not in the style applied through Armory. This happened after a HAL service update. I also applied a shutdown effect directly after updating which could have caused it.

ARGB does start back up with correct settings when logging into windows, however, when booting into other OS all ARGB is disabled. Previously my ARGB settings would remain intact and not be reliant upon booting into Windows.

I have attempted: Clearing BIOS, resetting Armory to default, removal of LastProfile.xml, reinstallation of Armory Crate, removal of shutdown effects, system restore. I also attempted to revert to Aura 1.0.79, however this refused to start correctly

Or the Asus is a need to develop their language.

So just a small doubt, I cannot see "tools" tab in the armoury crate as you all. Is armoury crate different for different models of Laptops / desktops?

4 Wired / wireless connection: Wired connection ethernet (optic fibre internet download 300mbits upload 100mbits (NO PROBLEMS WITH INTERNET)

8 So i reinstalled my WINDOWS 10 HOME one week ago because i had some problems with PUBG and thought it will solve the problem but it didnt, did hard reinstall (without DATA saviing – lost armoury crate etc) but after reinsetalling i installed again all firmwares, softwares etc for armoury crate and all was fine till 2 days ago when i went to armoury crate 40% of the app was on CHINESE/JAPANESSE and other 60% on ENGLISH. I tryed to reinstall it but it didnt help, have no idea how that happend lol, its so annoying and frustrating.

Also, SONIC RADAR 3 and SONIC STUDIO 3 are not working. Error message is „the current system is not supported, or the audio driver has not been properly installed TIMEOUT“. PLEASE HELP ME WITH THAT I REALLY NEED SONIC RADAR/STUDIO
Also, my windows is up to date as well as armoury crate software (got latest updates but not 100% sure because its on chinese and i only speek/understand ENGLISH and CROATIAN)

PLEASE, CHECK CAREFULLY ALL 8 SCREENSHOTS THAT I WILL ATTACH DOWN BELOW SO U CAN UNDERSTAND EASIER WHERE IS THE PROBLEM!
Note: armoury crate backup is not working so it didnt help me solve the problem as well as reinstallation of the program

PROBLEMS NEEDED TO SOLVE

1 Armoury crate back to english
2 when i press for example FN + F5 it switches the power mode to next one but i dont have „animation“ on the screen such as SILENT BALANCED TURBO. And same thing for all other functions, they all work but dont see animation on screen if u understand
3. SONIC RADAR 3 AND SONIC STUDIO 3 are not working at all

Does anyone know if this version fixes the issue of CPU usage when using RGB. Previous version would have CPU usage between 5-10% for me with just basic color cycle

Petite question depuis la dernière mise à jour de Armoury crate j'ai sans cesse des erreurs au démarrage de mon ordinateur concernant ArmouryIgoService et Bad module info est ce que tout le monde à cette erreur ? Et pour ceux qui ont réussi a résoudre ce problème qu'est ce qui faut faire ? Désinstaller et réinstaller Armoury Crate dans son ensemble ou attendre la prochaine mise à jour pour avoir un correctif concernant cette erreur ?

Salut,

Pour ma part et comme beaucoup ce bug est apparut depuis la dernière mise à jour, c'est bien Armoury crate qui crée ce problème.
Il faudrait peut-être pouvoir télécharger l'avant derniere version du logiciel pour corriger ce bug mais je n'arrive pas trouver la version antérieure.

5. Reinstalled Windows? No, and i wont do that becouse of a program that's just ridicilous everything else is working.

6. Windows 10 pro 64bit, version 2004 , osbuild 19631.1 (insider fast) build. I had previous insider build aswell before i updated armoury and its components and it was working fine then.

7. ROG RYUJIN FW Update Tool V1.01.01, armoury version before 2.7.8.0

8. I updated the program, my rog ryujin was missing i installed some XML for crosshair viii hero suddenly it was permanently gone, i then proceeded to uninstalling everything that had something to do with this program, installed it back again, "page error" on devices and a constant reboot of the asus_framework stuck in some kind of loop. I procceeded to uninstall it again after a lot of hustle, i got it to a better state now the device page was spinning but blank screen nothing came up, ok i procceeded to deleting "last profile" in lightning service now it suddenly gave me "xml error" - RETRY or RESTORE DEFAULTS, i tried pressing them both nothing happend i then procceed to uninstall everything and and now i cant remove "rog ryujin 1.03.02" in add or remove i press it nothing comes up like the uninstaller isnt even there nothing happends. Anyhow reinstalled everything again now my devices arent even there they are gone fully and my aura sync isnt working either.

Here are all the errors i have
I reinstalled 40 times and rebooted maybe 70 times, i have turned off psu power and everything aswell nothing have worked...

My Armoury crate was working previously now suddenly after new update and component updates within the program its not working any longer my whole program is broken, i should have never updated, Aura sync is broken aswell.

If asus support wont help me fix this, i will send my rog ryujin 360 back and tell the reseller there is a serious issue with their armoury crate program that isnt overwriting previous installations properly or there is simply missing files, leftover registery that corrupt the whole program and its components to the point where even when uninstalling everything according to FAQ does not help.

I shouldnt have to reformat my whole windows everytime a new update comes out or its components within the program brakes the whole program and corrupts the registery of its components / program, that's just ridicilous solution. Release a full proper wipe of all of it or proper uninstaller or something so it works again.

ok so i uninstalled again now i get a forever loading screen on device page when clicking "crosshair viii hero" and a error page with missing dll when pressing the "rog ryujin" device. Well the reason this seem to happen is the software itself doesnt allow for overwrites within the program so if you have updated previously some files are left over from a uninstall for example and it doesnt recognize the files are missing and requests the package file for them and even the registery from previous uninstalltion might be corrupt or something. This is not efficient the program should always overwrite previous registery and add fresh files on a reinstall or do something so everything is working again. This is only the files missing even if the files where present i still get error as the seen above image not working, there is some good example images i have above, hence why a new error appears everytime etc. The way the installer is designed is just bad by itself it shouldnt request files from a fresh install from a cloud, there should be a full package to begin with, with all the neccesary files so you know nothing is missing then after that if everything is working as it should then it can request files being updated ontop of the fresh install if the registery and everything is correct. Wich it is not right now. The fact that this new update got trough the testing phase is a dissaster, previous versions was working correctly but i dont know how a new update can be this messed up or the uninstaller being this hideous creating so much problems in the registery and missing files not being detected on reinstall etc. Try it uninstall all components and reinstall again you will get same issues i had, ontop of this if you uninstall again remove the asus folder with all files even though you have uninstalled everything there will be missing files aswell for example my rog ryujin files are missing and i cant seem to get them back etc hence all thoese new errors etc etc the list goes on with plagued issues.

All was fine on previous versions becouse i never had to uninstall due to updates messing everything up and do all the possible solutions to fix it. Even before this update i bet you if i where to uninstall do the same as i had to do now to no avail all thoese problems might have come up even then.

infact if i go to add or remove i dont see rog ryujin there usually there was a installed package there with it now its gone forever i cant even get it back with reinstall and updates in the program, same goes for everything else that is missing the program is unable to detect missing packages or missing files etc hence why all thoese errors comes up. Even the xml files for rog ryujin and crosshair viii hero is wrong or not installed properly or something is missing wich is why all thoese different errors on device show up and unable to load my devices even though they are there in the list and for aura sync as you can see on update screen nothing gets installed etc even though there is missing files and so on. I hope the devs see this and fixes all of the issues so it cant be this bad in the future and take proper steps to rework the installer and uninstaller and updates.

Is this expected ? Also I cannot turn off the RGB of individual components .. Example if I want to just turn of my LED strips i am not able to ... Same hold goods for all other RGB capable components. Also I don't see the option of ROG LED strip in the device menu any longer. If i remember this was working earlier ??? Please address the problem to turn of RGB lighting on a per component basis .

What should I do to simply launch Armoury Crate and manage my hardware's RGB lighting?

So just a small doubt, I cannot see "tools" tab in the armoury crate as you all. Is armoury crate different for different models of Laptops / desktops?
This usually happens to me when I don't enable Armoury Crate to install from within UEFI/BIOS Firmware. My suggestion for the UI. Please make it look more pleasing. I like to feel that I have a quality product. Right now it is sluggish.

Setting up Aura Sync is okay, but doesn't work correctly after a shutdown?
Have you tried a power cycle? (disconnect power from wall socket for 5 seconds).
ARGB I assume is the your fan?

8. Clarify your issue as clearly as possible: Aura Sync settings are disabled when booting computer from cold. RAM does light up and is in sync, but not in the style applied through Armory. This happened after a HAL service update. I also applied a shutdown effect directly after updating which could have caused it.

ARGB does start back up with correct settings when logging into windows, however, when booting into other OS all ARGB is disabled. Previously my ARGB settings would remain intact and not be reliant upon booting into Windows.

I have attempted: Clearing BIOS, resetting Armory to default, removal of LastProfile.xml, reinstallation of Armory Crate, removal of shutdown effects, system restore. I also attempted to revert to Aura 1.0.79, however this refused to start correctly

Couple of issues here:


Unable to change DIMM order in AURA sync, meaning memory modules are in the wrong order
ROG Spatha unable to use Aura Sync in wireless mode. Seems to have broken when upgrading to the latest firmware, as the previous version seemed to work fine
ROG Spatha not fully supported in Armoury Crate, leading to bugs due to the use of 2 softwares (Armoury II and Armoury Crate)


(NOTES)
Using Aura with the ROG Spatha in wireless mode seems to *partially* work, however it seems that Armoury II and Aura fight with eachother for control of the LEDs, as they blink on and off between the settings for Aura and those for Armoury II. The dock LED seems to blink random colours then go green, then the fight resumes and the dock starts blinking again. Didn't seem to have any problems on FW 1.69, issues are now occurring after upgrading to the latest firmware.

1. Heck of a system you've got there! I'll have the team try to replicate - Only issue is Static an Dark Mode, all other modes are fine.

2. You can access the motherboard device settings page easily from the Device panel (above Aura Sync) also - they're the same. The direct access link (triangle arrow) is available for devices which you may want to unsync and customize its own lighting effect.

3. When the system goes into S3 state (monitor going to sleep), each device should actually revert to the lighting effects saved onboard (EC mode).




8.1 Issue 1 - There is problem in static & dark mode. All other modes works well

8.2 Issue 2 - After update to version 2.7.8.0 button for setting of motherboard are missing

8.3 Issue 3 - When display (monitor) goes off RGB freeze in one state if is setup on rainbow mode it freeze and didn't change.

Thanks for your consistent help!!! The file you sent me successfully solve the MB update issue and the ROG theta & Rujin page, but the problem with Flares still exists. I kept getting the message of "We are sorry. There is an error with the device page. The application is going to reload the device page now." Also, the Aura lights on the motherboard don't sync with the system: I don't see the motherboard under the Aura sync page.

Guys, I have to say something about Asus. Armory Crate is in beta version and we should understand that there could be many potential problems about it. @MasterC@Asus is doing his best to help us. Rants don't help him to solve your issues so BE NICE!

The problem is Armoury Crate -> Device -> ROG ZENITH EXTREME ALPHA -> E7C8DA76-C9B9-4297-8681-DD878330AFE7.dll not found in system *ERROR MESSAGE*.
How do we fix this please from showing that error to get back to showing my motherboard and attached devices?

The system is ROG Zenith Extreme Alpha, 2990wx cpu, uefi bios 2001, windows 10 x64 v1909 os build 18363.836, g.skill 2933MHz 64Gb kit, 2xRTX 2080ti gpus, corsair knight sword mouse, k95 corsair keyboard, custom water loop, Armoury Crate UWP App v2.7.8.0, corsair iCUE v3.28.75, and Tt DPS G app v3.2.3.

Steps taken:
0) Booted to uefi bios 2001, and cleared all bios pressing F5 and SAVE/EXIT.

To resolve the remaining 2 issues:
1. Flare issue - might be some data format error.
FInd the directory C:\ProgramData\ASUS\ArmourySDK\Keyboard\ROG STRIX FLARE
1. Copy the “ROG STRIX FLARE” folder and PM me as a zip file for debugging.
2. Delete the “ROG STRIX FLARE” folder. (This action will delete your KB profiles and revert to default settings).
3. Launch Armoury Crate to see if problem is resolved.

Thanks for your consistent help!!! The file you sent me successfully solve the MB update issue and the ROG theta & Rujin page, but the problem with Flares still exists. I kept getting the message of "We are sorry. There is an error with the device page. The application is going to reload the device page now." Also, the Aura lights on the motherboard don't sync with the system: I don't see the motherboard under the Aura sync page.

Guys, I have to say something about Asus. Armory Crate is in beta version and we should understand that there could be many potential problems about it. @MasterC@Asus is doing his best to help us. Rants don't help him to solve your issues so BE NICE!

I cant see the Monitor and my Mouse (wired or wirless) in the Aura Sync. It dont connect to it. I used the mouse wirelessly, hoping that if the battery runs out, it will reset and it will be recognized, but unfortunately that didn't work.
And my Monitor is in connected correctly and the Aura Sync is on in options from the Monitor, but that didn't work, too.

Dear friend MasterC@ASUS - You are indeed our friend with Armoury Crate still in beta.
To get around this problem I tried returning to the last known working version of ROG Aura Sync v1.07.79 after following the complete [manual w/REVO unistaller] uninstall guide for Armoury Crate beta, and I was not able to defeat a very proliferating "Aura Service is not available" error. That was after removing every last known ASUS ROG directory, programdata folders, and registry install keys of all known products and software NT services including Task Scheduler Library\ASUS [scheduled tasks] on startup/logon.
Out of now a strong sense of desperation, I returned back to forcing the issue with Armoury Crate beta to try to get that working, frustrated again that all further attempts per your outline quoted have still met with disaster.
For your instructions about Flare issue - might be some data error: I too have not observed a directory folder located at the path "C:\ProgramData\ASUS\ArmourySDK\Keyboard\ROG STRIX FLARE" as the higher folder up the tree "C:\ProgramData\ASUS\ArmourySDK\" is totally missing or ArmourySDK is simply not installed.
For your instructions about Aura light effects on the motherboard don't sync with the system, and cannot be seen under Aura Sync: I did download this updated file "DeviceHalDetect.dll", and then renamed this file to "DeviceHalDetect_new.dll".
I also noted that this new file had the size 488kb, and then a few moments later I noted the current old file of the path "C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ROG Live Service\DeviceHalDetect.dll". I the renamed that old file to DeviceHalDetect_old.dll, and observed the 487kb file size that is currently sitting there.
I copied "DeviceHalDetect_new.dll" to the path "C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ROG Live Service" and made an in-place copy of that same file naming it "DeviceHalDetect.dll" effectively using your updated file so I UNDO this change if required, and with good reason!
Before the next step was taken, I further noted that the Task Schedule [System Tools\Task Scheduler\Task Scheduler Library\ASUS] labeled "Framework Service" that triggers at logon the executable "C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ArmouryDevice\asus_framework.exe" starts up the Node.js application "ASUS NodeJS Web Framework", and that it looks I think VERY important in order for Armoury Crate beta to work!
Before any change, "ASUS NodeJS Web Framework" is executing fine in my task manager, and the Device tab has changed from the last BIG-GUID.dll file missing error to a new red spinner on the device tab that does not stop. A .jpg screen capture is included of the state of the application, and this started happening after I tried to run 5 times about 10 minutes apart each without rebooting the installer "ArmouryCrateInstallTool.exe" I downloaded earlier.
With this updated file in place, I powered down my system and switched off the power supply and undid the wall plug totally draining all capacitors over about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
I booted backup into windows10 v1909, and noted the same device tab red spinner, but now sadly also the process "ASUS NodeJS Web Framework" is no longer running in my task manager, and the Task Schedule "Framework Service" job will not startup with no matter what compatibility setting or further attempt to start it backup!
This did of course grieve me again, so I reverted this last change going back to the 1kb smaller file "DeviceHalDetect_old.dll" deleting the newer file "DeviceHalDetect.dll" that is there, and renaming "DeviceHalDetect_old - Copy.dll" to the file "DeviceHalDetect.dll" in that same path "C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ROG Live Service". I did this so that the supporting Node.js application would start backup again which it did after reverting the change and rebooting again.
Was this an error on my part to revert the change to this file "DeviceHalDetect.dll" that could very well be holding up that development or testing QA progress for the Armoury Crate beta application?
On an older version of this software, a different provided installer installed the software component "ASUS Framework service" as a 6th and final software component that supports this Armoury Crate beta, and also a 3rd and final windows service (NT Service) that looks critical for the Amroury Crate beta to work!
If you would please kindly help again friend MasterC@ASUS - Did I do this only to cause another issue somewhere else for your changes?
Is there anything further that you know of that I could do here on my user end to do something about this "Red Spinner" device tab, and then leaving the client area blank on the device tab again about 10 to 15 minutes later?
Please if you would also have a look at this notable file also "devicehaldetect.xml" I found in the path "C:\ProgramData\ASUS\DeviceHalDetect".

You get the latest from the Windows store. 2.7.8 is the latest which is from the Windows store. Your product support page has version 2.6.5. If you uninstalled Armoury Crate then don't expect it to work correctly. I had this experience every time. My solution is to make sure the BIOS is set to install Armoury Crate on first Windows log-in after Windows Install.

Why do we need a game launcher to open another game launcher which then will start the game. Is would be better to have the game launchers that belong to each game in the Game library. But still, we don't spend a lot of time in the Armoury Crate app to even find that useful. The featured tab is an advertising joke. If you have to advertise then you might want to display products that are relevant to the products the user has, like accessories or addons relevant to the products detected.

At this Time, the Firmware of the Mouse and Dongle was an older one. Now i have 1.8 and 1.4 installed on the both.

8. Clarify your issue as clearly as possible.
I cant see the Monitor and my Mouse (wired or wirless) in the Aura Sync. It dont connect to it. I used the mouse wirelessly, hoping that if the battery runs out, it will reset and it will be recognized, but unfortunately that didn't work.
And my Monitor is in connected correctly and the Aura Sync is on in options from the Monitor, but that didn't work, too.

After my last Post, i have invest a few hours and i used different Crate and Rog Live Service Installs. After i used a 1mb great Armoury Install Tool from 20.04.2020, my ROG Spatha, Strix Flare, ASUS ROG Swift PG27VQ and the Spotlight connected. But now, my Mainboard, Ram, LC 360 AiO and GraphicsCard dont connect. I have save the folder under Program and Programm x86 from Asus. Here was some new Folders and here ist the copy of Crate:

In the morning i had formated my PC and now its clean. I install at First the newest Crate Version and now its the same Problem like before. All is connected, only my Display and Mouse, doesnt. I have try to copy the folders with the Mouse.dll data from the ROG SPATHA and the Display Folders, too to the right directory, but it doesnt works. Couple of issues here:

ROG Spatha unable to use Aura Sync in wireless mode. Seems to have broken when upgrading to the latest firmware, as the previous version seemed to work fine
ROG Spatha not fully supported in Armoury Crate, leading to bugs due to the use of 2 softwares (Armoury II and Armoury Crate)


(NOTES)
Using Aura with the ROG Spatha in wireless mode seems to *partially* work, however it seems that Armoury II and Aura fight with eachother for control of the LEDs, as they blink on and off between the settings for Aura and those for Armoury II. The dock LED seems to blink random colours then go green, then the fight resumes and the dock starts blinking again. Didn't seem to have any problems on FW 1.69, issues are now occurring after upgrading to the latest firmware.

Why don't I have smooth animation on all effects during synchronization?
This only happens when I synchronize something with the motherboard. Without synchronization, the effects are smooth.

I couldn't replicate this issue, I tried with a system with Insider Preview and the equalizer worked fine (see below).

Try adjusting the lower frequencies and the difference is clear as day.

To clarify, the dedicated button on the side of the controller has 3 modes - ANC, Ambience, Normal.
These modes cannot be controlled in software. The equalizer works fine in each mode, this function will not be affect software.

Please reboot, and wait for 10 mins while Detectdll is updated in the background.
You can go to C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\ROG Live Service to check if DeviceHalDetect.dll has been updated - see properties.

I don't know about ASUS laptops, but for my Motherboard, to get Armoury Crate to work is to enable the installation during Windows Setup. You do this in the UEFI/BIOS. It installs on first log-in automatically after a Windows OS installation. If I don't do this or delete the Armoury Crate installation then my Motherboard's specific features will not be detected. This is possibly because the Motherboard HAL files didn't install due to the Installation lacking proper hardware detection and installation files for the hardware detection to use. However, things may have changed since they added the option to download Armoury Crate from the support section of my motherboard. Maybe an ASUS support person here can answer this question?

He means to unplug your desktop from the wall or pull the battery from your laptop after shutting it down. If you can't pull the battery from your laptop then just unplug the AC power and shut down your laptop, wait 5 seconds then plug back it in and turn on your laptop.

Since I got the mouse (ASUS GLADIUS II WIRELESS) I have encountered several issues.
At start, just from connecting it, it broke Armoury Crate for my motherboard too. I had to reinstall everything.
Then for several days Crate failed to install the device SDK for the mouse.
Today there was a new update for the device SDK and the update kinda of worked as it managed to update it. But still when I go to devices both the mouse and the motherboard cannot be accessed. I get an error message saying "We are sorry. There's an error with the device page. The application is goin to reload the device page now.
Also I get 2 popup windows all the time that flash for some miliseconds and disappear. That also started with the mouse SDK update.
Also on Tools I get this error message "You need to install ASUS Armoury Crate service update before continuing.

I have updated this software to the latest version via microsoft store 2 days ago. Then aura sync started to switch to rainbow by itself, can happen, so I checked if there are any other updates available in armoury crate itself. It updated my mainboard C8HW and my AIO Ryujin 360. Aura sync worked fine again, but it seems a fan control conflict between armoury crate and AI suit 3 (Fan Xpert) has started, after I was prompted to reboot. (spinning up/down) Most likely both programs got the same priority over fan control.

I re-installed AI suit 3 to the latest version provided on the asus website and ran an initial fan test. The AIO completely disappeared from Fan Xpert and can't be found anymore. Only chassis fans are controllable.

For the moment I've setup a fan curve within armoury crate -> ryujin -> Fan control which seem to work ok, but is less comfortable than having everything in AI suits Fan Xpert.

Anyone knows how I can get the Ryujin back to appear in Ai Suit?

I have. It works in theory, but last I tried it, sleep/resume PC causes it to stop working and reset to some default colour profile I can't control. If I recall correctly, this happened also when monitor goes off while the PC is Idle.

None of this happens with ROG Armoury II and profiles, and I can switch profiles easily with Fn+number if it I need to.

I just tried to test Aura Creator again, if it still has the same sleep/resume issues. But it seems that now it will not work at all.

It does not see the device, and when I try to update things I'm just getting "Rog Live Service error". Both services are running.

Update loop issue - since last update
A few days ago the HAL for my board updated (as well as an update for my Mouse)

Since then, i'm now stuck in a loop - if I select my board from 'Devices' I get an error "You must first update your device to continue" - if I click "Check Update" there are no updates found.... I go back to Devices, and I get the same message...

I have rebooted a few times since, cannot figure it out :/

I can control the 4 x Fan that is connected on Fan Ext Card on AI Suite 3 (3 for GPU Cooler and 1 for CPU Cooler), its working as expected for speed control.

8. Clarify your issue as clearly as possible. - on reboot or cold boot once logging into windows Aura gives a weird behavior to the ARGB headers on the motherboard. I have my case's ARGB hub (Phanteks ARGB hub) connected to one header with 3 fans, the case's built in lighting, and an LED ring on my reservoir and they behave fine. The other ARGB header has 4 Fractal Prisma fans attached (standard ARGB connection that can daisy chain). The weird behavior is the fans that are directly connect about half the LED's turn off. The only fix is to go into Armoury Crate to the ARGB LED count, change either header to some other number than the default 120. That fixes it, and it can be changed back even. The next boot the same thing happens. This started happening after flashing the 2010 BIOS for the motherboard

This software is so buggy. I have had to uninstall and reinstall Armoury Crate so many times now.

The best results I have gotten from it, is to just not update it. It works better on an older driver.

I do have same exact issue with my motherboard Maximus Xii Extreme z490 Bios update 0607, armoury crate last update also 2.7.13.0.

i did everything even trying to find another 3rd party app to control livedash OLED motherboard, and there is nothing can control it, i thinks its only the Armoury crate and we cant use it.

Hello,
A new update rolled out and basically ruined this mouse of competitive play.
My Button response time has been changed from a minimum of 4ms to 12ms.
I am unable to reach above 10cps anymore and no other ways of being able to roll back to a previous version of the Armoury II software
Please someone let me know if there is a way to update this and get it back to being a great mouse or I will have to look at other mice to use.

Does anyone know if this new update fixes the high cpu usage with Asus lighting service using any feature other than static? mine would use between 5-10% unles my lighting was static. Right now i have the OG livedash and aura sync " no armoury crate" usage stays at 0 with color cycle breathing and static.

Me too with Pugio mouse, can't even access settings... also Aura sync won't keep settings for my claymore and Ryujin 360, pretty buggy release.

8. I am stuck in an update loop for rog gladius II "Sorry, we cannot finish the file installation. Please restart the system and retry. (Error code: 12)" I can not access aura sync functions nor can I edit in aura creator. No devices are seen by aura sync function, however, they are listed under devices tab. I have reinstalled Armoury Crate using ArmouryCrateInstallTool. Nothing is allowing me to update the Rog Gladius II. I can not access any gladius II settings, such as DPI, polling, lighting, etc. I have no control of the mobo, ram nor aio lighting functions either.

According to the OP there should be an option for "New: Backup/restore to personal profiles in cloud - for all device configurations and custom settings (log in first, find it under your profile)" however, when I log in to my account & go to my profile, the option to 'Backup/restore' does not exist.

Exactly the same problem and more than this!! Armoury Crate is garbage as software, it's very known if you search on internet, and i have only the Pugio on my PC from Asus and Armoury Crate install a lot of unnecessary "bloatware" for others components that there aren't on my system, like RGB for RAM, SSDs etc...
My advise is to uninstall it very carefully with directions that there are in Asus's site and after this look at your installed programs to find others unnecessary programs that have installed as i mention above!!
And install and use the latest version of ROG Armoury which is fine!! ;)

After the update something went wrong, so I decided to re install it and now I couldn't install it, ASUS must provide an official uninstaller/repair tool, because I found on the logs:

Everything worked fine before and stopped working today i can change rgb color profiles like i want, the problem is every time i startup it reverts to a default state either static or another profile that makes me wanna kill my self, i don't want to waste all day trying to fix your crappy software if set it to rainbow i want rainbow, i do not want anything else it is not respecting my settings and profiles do not automaticly switch unless i first startup the armory crate now all these issues i have is either without auto switching profiles it just defaults to static or another profile.
Also for rgb software i find it very disturbing the lack of optional effects even corsair has more choice when it comes to rgb, why is this software so bad, i am really getting pissed off i just had an ear infection if i stress i start hearing my own voice my own breathing my own heartbeat at 10000% volume distorted, please have this resolved within 24 hours or this is my last asus product i ever buy, i already have a useless 300€ brick from you guys a router where adaptive QoS does not work at all and just acts like any other brick that only cost 20€

I even restored a old clone backup of windows drive today that had everything working fine for month's that is suffering same bug after updating armory crate.

With the latest updates, there has been some progress. My Rog Claymore is visible to Aura Creator again. Also monitor or System going to sleep does not seem to break the current Aura profile anymore. That was perhaps the most annoying bug for me before.

However, restarting Windows will forget what aura profile was last used, and it defaults to something that I don't want.

Also, if for that or some other reason the profile does not switch or is wrong, there is no quick way to manually switch to a wanted profile. Fn + number did this using the old software.

Suggestions:

Add an option to select a Default profile! Meaning this profile is used if there is no app running with a profile bound to it.

Add an option to bind Custom Aura profiles to FN + number key combination (Or something else if that is not possible).

Those would finally fix my biggest gripes. If only restarting the PC messes it up now that is a minor thing compared to the past. I uninstalled Armoury II and will give this way a chance now, but time will tell how well it works in the long run.

Getting these apps to work has been a painful proposition from the start, but at least for me, these updates seem to be heading in to the right direction.

Oh thank god i am not alone, saves me from trying to do a clean install to resolve issue hopefully they have quick fix

At least for me it was always like that but before even putting the PC to sleep would cause some random profile/color to be selected and I remember it happening even when monitor would turn off while the PC is idle. They seem to have fixed those at least. Still far from perfect obviously.

Every few boots only 1 led per fan lights up for me with rest being dark sometimes also with lightstrip on front on my lian li rog certified case.
I really do not mind betas but it must be marked as beta and there need to be a stable release to with beta being optional atleast you will know you may run into issues with the option to drop back to stable.

Appearntly supose to be able control my ram to but asus decided to drop corsair vengeance rgb pro

One thing i also noticed if i set amount of leds per strip it sometimes reverts to default to, and not even randomy profile my fans turn red with both led strips on 5v rgb while motherboard turns white to default static

A reinstall wont work their software is litterally broken i reverted back to old image that was working fine before update, and it just broke again heck i just discovered it has been more broken then i thought before previously cos PC just boots up with static color then would turn to rainbow now for some reason it loads rainbow on cold boot again but upon entering windows it changes to crappy rainbow effect thinking my fan leds have 120 leds instead of 16 and then it only lights up 1 led per fan every few boots this is not an hardware issue its a software issue the software issue being armory crate.

And why has there been no update yet even tho this has been reported 24 hours ago ? can you for the love of god stop pushing out beta updates and least test before you launch an update and push a rollback update already i cannot disable auto update or revert to older vision this is idiotic......

Same problem here errror 12 cant update my rog chakram mouse, and becouse i cant update i cant change any settings on the mouse buttons etc, and becouse this software is buggy as hell if you unistall it you still have a ton of services, the 15/07/2020 , killed a already bad software, at least gives a proper unnistaller for cleaning this mess.

have rog claymore, rog chakram, X299 rampage encore, the mouse cant update and RGB

yep they are, thanks for the fast correction, becouse if this happens you cant use the software to adjust dpis etc, once more thanks

My claymore after i restart sometimes does not maintain the RGB sync profile (reverting to a single random fixed color), overall this updated introduced some minor bugs for every one regarding sync on devices


when is this software gets out of beta ?

Earlier today, Armoury Crate pushed me new memory & mouse updates. Both installed fine, no error code:12 for the rog gladius ii this time. Devices are up to date. However, aura sync functions are still not working. I have no control over mobo, ram, or led header. Still can not edit, etc in aura creator either.

Same its not applying user preference properly and completly disregarding it and defaulting to random effect.
I did a uninstall of all components and auracleaner tool + deleting lightning service folder then reinstalled everything except the downloader closes on 30% so i have to install the uwp app from windows 10 store instead i am pretty sure tho if i choose static and then rainbow it would default to static every restart it also only loads the half assed rainbow effect not the full rainbow effect ignoring led settings

Weird thing when choosing a preset you can click once on the preset than it register it but now if you click on a preset and then click again it repres it again like its not willing to save it

Yeah i am not gonna experiment with it further i just want it to work, and i want Asus to respect that i do not wanna beta test there updates unless i specificly choose to, with the option to fall back to stable update aka non beta.
Having way to much stress since pandemic this recent ear infection made me even more sensitive to point i cant even be angry without suffering even more

Heck before update it did't work properly either appearntly as on cold boot it would default to static then still load rgb setting properly upon boot, but it bugged out once for me on new update where it would load rgb effect on cold boot and even maintain it just not the usual rainbow effect, more like when i unsync my header it will use same effect except it was synced.

It randomly breaking leds and only lighting up 1 led per fan or header is also getting annoying has been issue since day 1 and i know for sure its not hardware issue cos i can bassicly just use remote effect and it never have the issue, its just not as smooth as software setting which is annoying.

Notice the front led strip stays white i could not even use the buttons to cycle thru alternative rgb modes that ddo not use cpu even after shutdown unless i turned of power suply and powered it on to reset power, really getting frustated with Asus.

WTH Asus, updated today hoping it would fix the random half my ARGB header LED's shutting off on a reboot. Well, it fixed that, but broke lighting totally. NOw I'm stuck in rainbow PUKE mode and lighting service doesn't respond in Armoury Crate or Aura Creator! I'm not reposting info you can find it a couple pages back. ONly thing new is the new versions of software that just came out!

After the update something went wrong, so I decided to re install it and now I couldn't install it, ASUS must provide an official uninstaller/repair tool, because I found on the logs:

It doesn't work now.
Same here, I did the same but when I attempt to reinstall the last version of Armoury crate, after half process of installation, the red bar (installation progress) disappears and the program crash and nothing works at all.

Any advice??

You must install armoury crate uwp app from windows 10 store that is the only way to reinstall it asus has to fix there installer reinstalling wont fix issues cos it will just install the same broken update again cos of the auto update this is why they should test before release they clearly did't if this many users have problems.

I have a zenith II extreme alpha with 8 sticks of gskill ram. Since the recent update 2 of the rams sticks are not being detected. I've tried everything including reinstalling windows, rollback to the earliest bios then update, power off and unplug, cleared cmos, removed cmos battery. I even tried yelling at it. I'm pretty sure the aura firmware got corrupted. I contacted Asus and they were actually very responsive and emailed me like 5 times yesterday. However, there solution was to RMA the board. As you can imagine its a complex system (search jsp9000 on reddit) so dismantling it is not what I want to do especially for a ridiculous RGB issue. Anyone else having similar problems or a potential solution? Thanks!

I really want them to fix the rgb and also support corsair vengeance rgb pro cos the rgb from iCUE does not match with armory at all its half assed rainbow effect compared to when armory crate is configured properly on my rgb fans altho i wish i could tweak the rgb spectrum to scale bit bigger like what i get on 24 leds scaled down to 16 leds etc

This is why I don't trust ASUS for 100% builds with my renderer/gaming fleet PCs.

I have another PC with Core i9-9900K with letter M vendor Z390 ARGB motherboard and letter M's RTX 2080 Ti ARGB while my Ryzen 9 3900X build has ASUS ROG mobo ARGB, ASUS RTX 2080 and ROG mouse.

My renderer (for 3D RT work)/gaming PCs has motherboards from letter M, letter G, and ASUS vendors. I'm nearly ready for Rocketlake and Ampere RTX RGB purchase cycle and it wouldn't be ASUS build with ASUS's RGB software mess. It was a selection between letter G and ASUS for my recent Ryzen 9 + X570 build.

I'm currently doing a clean Windows 10 version 2004 install with my Ryzen 9 with ASUS ROG build. Armoury Crate was working a few days ago.

So I installed an older aura version 1.05.13 and it's able to detect all of my ram sticks and control them so I really don't think this is a hardware issue. When I installed armoury crate it reverted back to not recognizing the 2 ram sticks. I can't believe they would rather deal with motherboard RMAs instead of just fixing this horrible software. Their software is by far the worst out of any MB vendor. From AIsuite, old aura and livedash and now it continues with armoury crate. I will never buy another asus MB again. Gigabyte and MSI have totally caught up with them and I don't think anyone really thinks asus makes the best motherboards anymore. This is a joke.

Because there was a major update on Armoury crate (Version3.0.x), and the R&D people found there was a major flaw on the new version so they pull it off form the store to fix it.

Well i just tested clean install and even out of the box its broken just like predicted, good thing i had clonezilla backup laying around to revert that clean install not gonna waste my time setting up everything if it does't all work anyway, i did decide to test out something tho if all you want is rainbow effect and you fine with the half assed effect you can go to services.msc stop lightning service then go to C:\Program Files (x86)\LightingService and rename lastprofile.xml and then restart lightning service again in services.msc it should default to rainbow, either rgb settings aren't stored properly in this file or not loading properly may wanna look into that Asus....

In folder C:\Program Files (x86)\ASUS\AsusGamingCenterInstallPackage you can find a file named eb5fc001c4024013b1813460e7af6c56.appxbundle you can use that to install armory crate also if you still have the folder and unable to install it.

aura sync functions are still not working. aura sync is not seeing devices. I have no control over mobo, ram, or led header. I still can not edit, etc in aura creator either.

Now saving settings to LastProfile.XML works crookedly after updating.

We select any Effect (Music, Intellectual, Dark) then we put it on the Rainbow, Restart the Computer and the Effect should be Rainbow, since the last installed Effect, he does not put it until you enter AURA Effects, hangs on the last Effect set from (Music, Intellectual, Dark ) You can fix this only by deleting the LastProfile.XML file and restarting the computer or service.

Выбираем любой Эффект ( Музыка, Интеллектуальный, Темный ) потом ставим на Радугу, Перезагружаем Компьютер и Эффект должен быть Радуга так как последний установленный Эффект он он его не ставить пока не зайти AURA Эффекты, зависает на последнем Эффекте установленных из ( Музыка, Интеллектуальный, Темный ). Исправить это можно только удалением файла LastProfile.XML и перезагрузив компьютер или службу.

I sort of got it working after I tried to install the lighting software for my GSkill RAM last night to get it out of Rainbow mode as well and it didn't work. I found a guide on GSkill's forums for removing stuff like armoury crate etc https://www.gskill.us/forum/forum/product-discussion/ddr4/trident-z-rgb/163741-trident-z-lighting-control-driver-conflict-clean-uninstall-guide and it actually helped. I removed the GSkill software, rebooted as per guide, removed ALL of the Armoury crate entries in add/remove programs in control panel, all the lighting services, ROGLSL service, etc. that had all been installed (basically all Asus software except AI Suite which was the only other thing I had installed). Rebooted, ran the batch file in the GSkill post to remove leftover armoury crate bits and reboot. Then installed the GSkill software with "run as admin" as instructed and verified it worked, then installed Armoury Crate and updated it, and rebooted.

It sort of works. On first boot it let me go right in and change the rainbow puke to a static color. The other tab where you can adjust header LED count, and power off colors still will not load properly. After first boot it kept telling me I needed an update, but there are none. Subsequent boots it just spins. Also subsequent boots first an entire header shut off. I think the other one technically did as well, but those lights are running off a Phankteks RGB hub that is plugged into the ARGB header. I went into Services and restarted ALL of the armoury crate, lighting services, etc.. One of them (forget which) shut ALL the lights off, turned everything including the missing header back on when I started it.

So, it's not "great" but at least I don't have rainbow puke until Asus can hopefully fix this mess. Hope this helps someone.

deleting lastprofile.xml brings it back to default rainbow but if you want anything other its pure luck that it sticks or it does not, even if you set amount of lights per header it will not remember those did before, however what never worked for me is profile switching per app would only work after i launched armory app then would switch properly if i just startup and do not start it up manually it play dumb never switch profile at all clearly software is very beta but even before it was useable not now its not.

When you delete lastprofile.xml it just generates a new one i really wonder if could manually edit the file to apply proper rgb profile instead or if it will overwrite it instead.

While fighting with the apps & services, I seem to have made some progress.

It seems to me, that when Crate & lighting services start and you launch the first app that causes a profile to switch, this becomes the "default" aura profile. On my keyboard the leds blink when this happens. If you launch another app that is bound to another profile, it switches to that correctly, and back when you close it.

With this assumption, I made a script that I run at boot up. I have bound the "default" profile to notepad++. So I restart the services, run notepad++ for a short time, and close it. It seems to work for NOW. But of course this is still an extremely cumbersome way to do this and an option for a Default profile is a must.

Profile switching never worked for me until i open armoury seriously i hate this, they just ignoring the problem it has been broken since then 10 juli update how hard is it to just roll back an update that has less problems then current patch, this is what makes me jump over to another brand issues like this piss me off makes me wanna kill my self.

According to Asus support page, GameVisual has been integrated into Armoury Crate, however I cannot find the option in the software.

I tried uninstalling the external GameVisual application and reset Armoury Crate, but it's still not showing.

Any idea how to get GameVisual to show up in Armoury Crate, I would like to use it with scenario profiles instead of keep changing the settings manually.

Random cscript.exe blank windows opening up which cause full screen games to minimize to taskbar. Started when I installed the latest Armoury Crate and stopped when I uninstalled it. I'm on Windows 10 version 2004.

Like everyone else in this thread, when I updated to Armoury Crate version 2.7.8.0 I lost all devices in Aura Sync. Nothing is recognized.

I have now updated to Armoury Crate version 2.7.13.0 after uninstalling the previous version. Still nothing showing in Aura Sync.

When selecting Devices, I can see the ROG Ryujin full details (tabs for OLED, Lighting, Fan Control and Firmware Update) but when I click on the ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO (WI-FI) nothing appears, just the "thinking" circle of dots going around and around.

I have this happening as well but it hasn't minimized my screen, yet. It loads on top of the game then quickly closes. It definitely interferes, looks like a virus attempting to run, & any in game action I attempt does not register. total scuff!

Issues are RGB profiles not loading properly on bootup restart
You choose rainbow puke with leds set to match fan to get full rgb effect no can do it will reset to half assed non rainbow effect across 120 leds instead of user preference giving you nothing more then color cycle instead of rainbow puke
Chosen static and then choose rainbow puke your system will be set to static on restart and bootup every single time despite being set to rainbow puke.
every few boots rgb will only light up 1 led instead of all of them.
Profile only properly loads after you enter armoury crate and go to aura effects don't even have to click more and just loads instantly why cant it on cold boot or restart etc ?

After the latest update from today armory crate menu Aura sync not detect a single device - i tried reinstall and restart of the pc .
Didnt reinstall windows on pc. Spec is listed on my profile, Windows 10 1909 up to date .

Hi.

Recently I did a clean install of Windows 10 and discovered that Armoury Crate is way different then I remembered. The one that usually installs with the Windows 10 Pop up did not have all these Aura Sync / Livedash features. Before I used to use AI Suite III / Aura Sync / Livedash apps seperately so I thought now I'll try out the new Armoury Crate.

Initially the only problem I had was that my G.Skill Trident Z RGB ram wasn't being detected. Then suddenly one day it starts to work, I guess the app updated itself? But now the livedash on my motherboard is stuck on the last post code before bootng into Windows.

When I try to go into the motherboard settings in Armoury Crate, it's just blank.

Aura/Armoury Crate no longer detects motherboard for Aura Sync after updating through the Armoury Crate internal update, states "No devices available, Please connect at least one AURA Sync compatible device". I now have NO control over any of my RGB/ARGB headers.
Done all the usual steps, uninstalled all Asus backend applications, restart, cleaned reg, restart, reinstalled using latest download from Asus site, restart. I shouldn't have to be expected to do a clean windows install every time a programmer *£%s up!!

Pugio update has been fixed but still Armoury Crate seems to forget colour profile for my Claymore and Ryujin... I restart the PC and those two devices revert to the default RGB effects and I need to manually desync/sync again.

Out of random my PC decided to have static red light when turned off even tho never turned static light when off on at all then cold boot now gives me rainbow effect a better rainbow effect then i usually get from armoury crate, so appearntly armoury crate is glitching settings and applying them inproperly somehow.

So to sum it up cos of a glitch i have proper rainbow effect when i turn on system but once booted into windows it aplies rainbow effect or wrong effect inproperly and if i try change it it stops working properly giving me wrong effect, i guess if it can show rainbow effect in system turn on with glitch it should be able to do so always even if i choose effect before it would always default to static when powering on system first time in the day then load proper effect once windows is booted, now it does the ope site cos of a glitch and only cos it glitched, managed to fix the shutdown effect by turning it on and off again.

I am unable to control any profiles as Armoury Crate aura sync section does not see any of my devices. Same issue with aura creator too. I have sent a PM on 7/17 to MasterC@ASUS for the "aura creator reset tool" per post https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?119023-Aura-Creator-does-not-work-with-the-latest-version-of-Armoury-Crate but I have yet to receive a reply.

That tool should be avaible publicly with motherboard utilities for each aura based motherboard honestly if that tool can fix the issues they should defiantly make it avaible i can apply everything fine tho the problem is reboot or cold boot it just has a mind of its own ignoring user settings the app is clearly broken last few updates did nothing to fix it, i could uninstall the software and it would run just fine without it cos rainbow effect is glitched for me to apply it even on cold boot and a much better scaled effect to, appearntly app decided to turn on power off effect on its own even tho its disabled in the software which glitched it to apply rainbow on cold boot it will probably go away permanently as soon i pick static color and then try to choose rainbow but then i have it not apply on cold boot, or at startup leaving me even more broken

Man this current version just gets weirder. I updated to Win10 2004 yesterday. Now, after Armoury Crate "reinstalled" itself after I can actually change colors on things. However, the section where you would normally access ARGB LED count, RGB header "calibration" and power off colors still just spins. I re-installed Aura Creator (hadn't put it back in since removing everything the other night) and it can apply my saved and reimported color schemes, except, for devices it only sees my mobo and RAM, not the headers on the mobo. If I apply one of those imported profiles in Armoury Crate, anything on the ARGB headers shuts off. I guess I'll just be glad for now that I'm not stuck in rainbow puke mode. Thank you Asus may I have another?

While fighting with the apps & services, I seem to have made some progress.

It seems to me, that when Crate & lighting services start and you launch the first app that causes a profile to switch, this becomes the "default" aura profile. On my keyboard the leds blink when this happens. If you launch another app that is bound to another profile, it switches to that correctly, and back when you close it.

With this assumption, I made a script that I run at boot up. I have bound the "default" profile to notepad++. So I restart the services, run notepad++ for a short time, and close it. It seems to work for NOW. But of course this is still an extremely cumbersome way to do this and an option for a Default profile is a must.

If one starts before other causing it to not load properly then would't giving the one that loads the right profile a delayed start fix it ?

I've just checked the ASUS sites and the only version available for download is still from 2020/01/17 version 2.7.13.0

Version 3... can't be any worse than what I'm using, 2.7.13.0.

The biggest frustration with this, isn't just the extremely buggy and poor quality software, to me, it is the appalling customer service from ASUS.

Surely, ASUS has to understand Customer Service 101 and that is to keep the customer updated as to what is happening. Communication is always the key to these things, even if it is just to say "hi all, we understand your frustrations and we are working as hard and as quickly as possible to rectify these issues" or words to that effect.

@MasterC@ASUS hasn't been seen in this thread since 07-17-2020 01:40 PM, almost 5 days ago. And even when he/she does post a response, it is always just to post a reply, seemingly at random, to user for their specific issue rather than addressing everyone here.


ASUS, lift your game please, you have some very disappointed fans and more importantly, customers, here. Please just communicate with us and let us know what is going on!

This armoury crate has auto update you can manually update in cog wheel bottom left of app then update center whatever that is called in your language, i just did a clean install on windows to go usb stick still same broken **** also on app vision 3.0.4.0 meanwhile today aura service asus hal also updated no change whatsoever, i can ofcourse pick rgb effects they just wont stick.

And its even more broken now i can only get the crappy rainbow effect that is inproperly scaled down on my 9 fans while it would give me all shades before it only gives me 2 shades at most now on my 2e strip while 1e strip i can scale it properly for some reason, really do not understand why it breaks even more each update

Previous versions worked on my Asus XI formula motherboard. I can find the motherboard device and control the RGB light. In the latest version 3.0.4.0 there are only blank pages without sync devices :mad:

Found new glitch just booted and its applying properly again just not at cold boot and restart this section of aura sync looked different yesterday and was not working properly
It also was gen 2 for second strip gen 1 for first strip, and both showed up to 500 leds instead of up to 240 leds while first strip gen 1 would aply settings properly but the second strip gen 2 did not for some reason its showing up to 240 leds now while it was showing up to 500 yesterday when it was broken

Just to confirm just checked fresh install on windows to go usb stick and it was glitched on that yesterday to showing up to 500 adressable leds for each strip with exception strip 1 being gen 1 strip 2 being gen 2 and strip 2 ignoring settings and not working, now i just booted up and it shows gen 1 both strips up to 240 leds, your software is glitching out probably not even showing right sections probably cos remnants wheren't deleted properly you may wanna fix that and make sure each page loads properly and aplies properly.

I dont know what happened but just now I tried to remove armoury crate software with revo uninstaller and clean registry with ccleaner software then install the armoury crate software again and boom my mobo can be detected again plus I can control the rgb lights now. There is some update when I finished the installation.

So I finally received a solution for my issue of armoury crate not detecting 2/8 sticks of gskill RGB ram in my $850 zenith II extreme alpha MB. Due to days of troubleshooting on my part I was able to determine that an old aura version 1.05.13 from 7/2017 I found under the original ZE downloads was able to detect and control the RGB of all 8 sticks of ram. Their solution is to uninstall armoury crate and just use that old aura version. I'm serious. That's the solution from their "engineers." So I guess I should just accept not being able to control my live dash (because that can only be controlled through armoury crate) and be happy that I can control the RGB of my ram with a program from 3 years ago. This is the last asus product I buy.

After seeing quite a few people here having issues when V3.0.4 launched. I got our guys to stamp out those issues asap. For a brief period, it was safer to keep those who did not update already to remain on the previous version while we sorted out the kinks. V3.0.4 is available again, and you won't need to do anything except reboot then wait for 10-15 min for Armoury Crate to update in the background (speed dependent on your network connection). The new update adds several useful features and tools, features such as exciting new Aura Sync modes, and a new log collection tool so it's less effort for you to provide system config info to us.

Please understand that issues are being reported with your help, but every new update has a schedule. Some of your reported issues may have been replicated, resolved, tested, and implemented in time for the next update, and some won't. If your issue isn't resolved yet in V3.0.4, it doesn't mean that nobody is listening and the fix isn't coming. We are a global brand, and our scope is far larger than this thread and forum. Please do not spam these threads or moderators' inboxes to expedite your own case - we can use our time more efficiently to improving our software (help us help you). As you will find, we have several people checking in and also many experienced individuals in our community who are very helpful (if you don't like what they have to say, at least they spent the time to answer you - please be nice).

Hi Guys,

After seeing quite a few people here having issues when V3.0.4 launched. I got our guys to stamp out those issues asap. For a brief period, it was safer to keep those who did not update already to remain on the previous version while we sorted out the kinks. V3.0.4 is available again, and you won't need to do anything except reboot then wait for 10-15 min for Armoury Crate to update in the background (speed dependent on your network connection). The new update adds several useful features and tools, features such as exciting new Aura Sync modes, and a new log collection tool so it's less effort for you to provide system config info to us.

Please understand that issues are being reported with your help, but every new update has a schedule. Some of your reported issues may have been replicated, resolved, tested, and implemented in time for the next update, and some won't. If your issue isn't resolved yet in V3.0.4, it doesn't mean that nobody is listening and the fix isn't coming. We are a global brand, and our scope is far larger than this thread and forum. Please do not spam these threads or moderators' inboxes to expedite your own case - we can use our time more efficiently to improving our software (help us help you). As you will find, we have several people checking in and also many experienced individuals in our community who are very helpful (if you don't like what they have to say, at least they spent the time to answer you - please be nice).

latest version still didn't discover my motherboard. I tried everything uninstall all components, delete Program data and Programs Files folders and install Armoury Crate again, without success. Please Help me!

Earlier this week after uninstalling and rerunning CCleaner and RivoUninstall, many reboots, I FINALLY got Crate working again. Then I woke up and the Crate App had updated, no longer responded to any commands, tried rebooting. After reboot Crate does not even see any of my Aura Sync devices. I try to uninstall again, now I get DLL missing errors when I click the device pages, and under the Aura Sync page it does not detect any devices, I even tried searching for updates. Then Crate tells me its missing prerquitsites, but no idea what or how to get them.

I have alot of money into this setup, I have ran exclusively ASUS hardware since the 1990s with a Socket 7 board. This may be the end of my buisness with ASUS because its causing so much headache. I am fixing software issues more than using it.

Those with the new version 3.0.4.0, how/where did you get it?

I've just checked the ASUS sites and the only version available for download is still from 2020/01/17 version 2.7.13.0

Version 3... can't be any worse than what I'm using, 2.7.13.0.

The biggest frustration with this, isn't just the extremely buggy and poor quality software, to me, it is the appalling customer service from ASUS.

Surely, ASUS has to understand Customer Service 101 and that is to keep the customer updated as to what is happening. Communication is always the key to these things, even if it is just to say "hi all, we understand your frustrations and we are working as hard and as quickly as possible to rectify these issues" or words to that effect.

I think ASUS flat out don't care about customer support.

For me,
My RAM (Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer) is not controllable through Armoury Crate, so while I can apply lighting effects to them, the DIMMs are out of order. Can change the order in Aura Sync, but not in Armoury Crate. Has been present since I finished this build (Feb 2020)
ROG Spatha is not supported in Armoury Crate when hardware is not that old. Have filed SEVERAL support tickets, and made posts on here, and NOT 1 RESPONSE.

I'm sorry, but unless this is fixed soon I'm not buying ASUS again. Their software is a joke, no matter how good the hardware is; there's no point buying it if you can't use it to it's full potential.

I can't even get Aura Sync to install right anymore, this has to be the worst software I ever seen. This is on top of trying to RMA the GR8 II for missing internal parts for second drive, which ASUS won't sell to users and insists I send the computer in.

I spent the evening resetting windows. The new version of crate went in without any issue. I then listened to music for an hour enjoying the new music lighting options to celebrate it working, then suddenly all RGB died again. shut down, unplugged the power for 5mins, booted back up and now no devices detected in Crate, no updates, none of the GR8 II lights, or peripheral lighting responding. From the time of resetting windows and installing crate, they ONLY thing I did was stream music on youtube, no updates, installs, nothing, and it stopped working.

Im not doing a clean install btw to fix this just roll out an update that pretends to be newer but is actually the older vision that has no issues and add beta flag option in update section for updates that need testing that can just as easily be unflagged to drop back to non beta in case of issues with beta, nothing against betas i just think it should have a stable release and a beta release option

Its not doing anything btw waiting 15 minutes or not reinstalling is not an option if tryit many times it just break things further cos the uninstall proces is imposible.

If you think i will do a clean install you can forget that, you have no idea how many hours i will need to spend to re configure windows to my liking this is why i use pxe network boot witn clonezilla to make image of windows drive for backup so i can easily restore a image which is as close of a clean install i can do which won't fix the issue cos that image is now essently the same broken armoury update, you guys broke it you should know how to fix it if you do not know you should't be forcing updates down our throat to begin with and waste our time.

Please have this fixed today without any clean install required i litterally have to spend like few hours to set everything up if i have to do a clean install which is not fun at all, let alone creating new backups also cost time, i have ability to put windows 10 on my 256 gb usb stick with clean install for testing which i did yesterday which also includes new log option it also is still broken, if no idea what you guys are doing but your not fixing the issue you just walking away from the problem, when you have a problem and fix it with clean install you never find out root cause you are bassicly walking away from problem, when i have a proble i back track and succesfully fix the problem always, unless you have bad memory.

I just also tested clicking once on stary night preset then rebooted it would apply default rainbow, while if i choose static and then rainbow it would always apply static as default, this is not right this is the main issue if been having since the issues started.

Mine finally started working, for about 4mins then stopped responding again. I only seems to ever work long enough to get your hopes up just to smack you down again...

To avoid spamming I'm adding this to my last message, I rebooted and then ran errands for about an hour, it worked, but it was very slow to respond to settings changes and my Claymore was synced in the software but was not lighting up, then about 4-5mins, one song, it against stopped responding. then started give device page errors.

I don't know what you are expecting but if i did clean install on usb stick it would still be broken even after updating, its not working as intended we need an uninstaller and a proper installer with all the right updates with a pause updates functionality least till everything is figured out and working like it should, with updates being tested before release in future or another option to fall back to previous update to fix things again which auto reports to asus that oh hey another user reverted update there are problems with insert reverted update.

I don't know if your updates are region based and if defiantly seen that updates landed on taiwan page first 2 days before it landed on NL page which is where i am from, so may wanna consider that if that is the case to push updates each region effected by the issues

The communication is exactly what was needed and the information provided is helpful and hopeful.

I do have to apologise for the use of the words "it is the appalling customer service".

However, I do ask ASUS that it please recognise that it was said in frustration from the perceived lack of action by ASUS on these issues we have been raising here and in other parts of the broader ROG forum.

We understand that ASUS is a global company and that this forum isn't the only source of information from your user base however I would say that this forum is a pretty good sounding board for what is happening out there in the broader user community.

On the whole, the thing I have noticed about this community is that they are very passionate about ASUS, knowledgeable, provide very good feedback and dedicate plenty of their own time and efforts solving these issues.

So please continue with the communications to the this forum as it is very helpful to know what is happening behind the scenes and that work to resolve these issues continues.

And finally, I would like to say thanks because the most recent updates to the software have resolved my issues. Armoury Crate is now working as intended and I have control over my RGB, fans, etc.
