Silly question - I've read that for SSD owners it's a pretty good idea to disable hibernation, but what about sleep mode?

Of course if you own an SSD, it takes the computer about 15 seconds to boot up anyway...

Sleep holds all your work in memory while using a small amount of battery power to keep the memory alive, while hibernation writes everything in memory to the disk in HIBERFIL.SYS. So I suspect sleep will not involve the SSD to the same degree as hibernation.

Personally, I'm not a fan of sleep or hibernation.

Sleep doesn't cache so it has no bearing on your SSD. I use it all the time.
