View Full Version : Adding M2 PCI-e slots to ROG STRIX B550-F to allow 7 GPUs; Won't Post

I have an Asus ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming AM4 Socket USB 3.2 AMD Motherboard. I have a crypto mining rig setup on the board and currently have two M.2 PCI-e adaptors added. This makes it have 7 PCI-e in total.

I currently have 6 GPUs working on the board. 5 GPU's through the standard PCI-e slots on the board and 1 through one of the M.2 PCI-e adaptors. When I plug up the 7the board will not post. Any suggestions or BIOS settings that need to be adjusted to allow the 7th GPU to work?

I tested the adapters and they both work so it is not a faulty adapter. 6 GPUs will work if 4 PCI-e slots and the two M.2 PCI-e adaptors are connected. No matter what when I add the seventh GPU it won't post.

4x PNY Gtx 1660 Supers
1x Zotac RTX 3070 Amp Holo
2x Zotac GTX 1660 (These are always the last two GPUs I try adding. #6 will work but # 7 does not)
