I've searched and searched, and can't find the definitive answer to this question:

Can the GPU be upgraded in a G73JW laptop?

Thanks.

Take a look at this forum http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gaming-notebook-forum/641007-g73jh-6970m-upgrade-infomation.html
perhaps that will answer your question :)

EDIT: Sorry I thought this was a JH model, take a look here.... http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gaming-notebook-forum/584855-g73jw-gpu-upgrade-question.html

For me it looks like if you should buy the right card, that fits your notebook, it will be a high risk that it wont work as it should afterwards.

Hey gtx 470 will post and can access bios but it doesnt go passed bios.
I tested a gtx 560 in Asus G73Jh it didnt display anything. but hd 6970m(here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOu-5PtXWik&feature=youtu.be)) and hd 5870m(here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbKVQ_FsL_A&feature=relmfu)) worked .
I took those video's , I just want to prove it works fine, but both the fans are at 100%.
