Hello,

I currently have 3 ASUS Gaming laptops - embarking on buying my 4th.. but I'm having a little trouble finding a good reference that shows me what each of the different G74SX models comes with.

Can someone point me to a good reference?

Thanks!

I found this site when I was choosing my model a couple months back. Hope it helps bro

Yeah - I found that page. Problem I'm having is that the model numbers on that page don't seem to line up with what I'm finding on sites selling them.

I can sort of line them up - for example...

The G74SX-A2 on the page you linked seems to match up with G74SX-DH72 models that I am finding for sale.

It's driving me a little batty :)

Gah... scratch that actually...

The G74SX-A2 has an i7-2630QM processor and the G74SX-DH72 has an i7-2670QM processor.

I think this is intentional. There is no rhyme or reason to their model naming "system."

Your best bet is to just decide what features and options you want, then find a configuration that best matches your specs.

Think I may have found the winner...

ASUS G74SX-DH72
- Intel Quad Core i7-2670QM (2.20GHz) Processor
- 17.3" Full HD (1920 x 1080) LED Display
- 16GB DDR3 1333MHz Memory
- 750GB 7200RPM Hard Drive + 160GB Solid-State Drive (SSD)
- Blu-Ray DVD Combo Drive
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M 3GB GDDR5 Graphics Card
- Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
- Bluetooth V3.0 / USB 3.0 / Illuminated Keyboard

I just wish I knew whether or not the OS was installed on the SSD.

If a configuration comes with an SSD, the OS will be installed on it.
