After having few screen freezes and other issues with my g74sx I wanted to try fresh install using the installed 2nd 750gb drive, so is this possible and simple?

Yes....you can install Windows anywhere you want, so long as there's enough room. Are you talking about a clean install, or a factory restore?

Clean install mate.
Now,
Is it as simple as putting win 7 iso on a dvd and then setting bios to run from the br/dvd player,Then run/load the relevent minimum drivers?
Or,
Could I run setup from 1st drive and then just set win 7 to setup on the 2nd drive?

When you install Windows, you don't need to change the default boot location in the BIOS (many people do this, unnecessarily). Simply press ESC immediately at power-up to access the boot menu. There, you can simply choose the optical drive and boot from your installer CD.

I would recommend you remove the existing Windows drive while doing the clean install. This isn't difficult at all...the G74 has nice big back panel for accessing the drives. But even if you don't remove it, you will have an option, early in Windows Setup, to choose a location for the install. Be careful to select the location you actually want....especially if you have two identical 750Gb HDDs, it's easy to confuse them in Windows Setup. (Don't rely on the disk number, as that can change at any time.)

Thanks for the info/help :)
Now to get/findout all the minimum programs/drivers I need to Download.

So far,
ATK,
Wifi card driver,
Touchpad driver,
Nvidia driver,
Adobe flash player,
Asus wireless console driver?

Here are the essential drivers:
Intel Chipset
Intel MEI
Intel RST
nVidia VGA
Fresco USB3.0
Realtek HD Audio
Touchpad (Sentelic or Synaptics, depending on hardware)
Realtek ethernet
WLAN (Intel or Atheros, depending on hardware)
Bluetooth (IF present, IF desired....Intel or Atheros, depending on hardware)
Realtek Multi-card reader
ATK package

Everything else, including Adobe programs or Asus utilities, is optional. A completely clean installation assiduously avoids the Asus bloatware, as much of it is crappy software that tends to muck up the system and cause problems.
