View Full Version : Rampage Tweak fixed my RAM issues

I was getting pretty pissed at my new build. I just installed a 3820 on a RIVE board using some OCZ Platinum DDR3-1600 RAM I picked up from them before they shut down the memory side of their business. I was having a hell of a time getting the system stable and found out it was the RAM not stable running at 1600. Worked great at 1066 and then 1333, but 1600 would cause all kinds of issues from BSODs to corrupt zip files and such.

I was about to give up and buy some GSKILL when I saw a manual they posted on line for their memory on a RIVE board. The first thing they did was set the Rampage Tweak to Mode 1 for compatibility. I fired up my system and set mine up the same way and lo and behold it's alive and running at 1600.

So if you're having any issue with your RAM and system stability, check out that setting and see if it helps.

BTW I love the in-BIOS screen shot ability....

Cheers Pharret thanks a heap for posting your experience at a work around. Much appreciated.

Well, spoke too soon. RAMs still unstable, just took a day for it to crash instead of an hour.

Guess I'm going to have to order new RAM and see if it's the mobo or memory.

Anyone want some slightly used OCZ 1600 RAM that only runs stable at 1066?

Ouch - could you try the loose PSC settings and see if that helps.

Set the BIOS to the loose PSC profile. Seems to work quite well so far. I ran Prime95 all day yesterday and no errors. System seems pretty stable so far. Keeping my fingers crossed...

New BIOS that came out this last week seems to have settled things some.
