Hi good morning I'm new at this and do not speak English this is translated by google lol

I have a problem with my asus g74sx xt1 is that my DVD drive model slimtype BD reads DVDs but we want to burn
I've tried several programs and various types of discs as + R-R the problem I have is that with the NERO says there is a power failure in the unit slimtype and if I use tells me that error Power2Go 0xeb020b88
I have read in various forums and everyone says disk failure can be (and buy several different brands of discs and the problem continues)
They say it can be problems of food
Others say it may be the bios (say several people have updated their bios to vericon 202 and sometimes the laptop no longer turns on)
Others say that lower the burn speed of 2x or 4 x and the lower and the problem continues

You try to talk to asus support and no answer: S
How can I ever tell you that solve my problem I have

In short my laptop is new and if you read DVD but not burn DVD

Greetings and thanks

Greetings, @sir_kamelotd - Please post the EXACT text of the Nero error indicating a power failure.

What file are you attempting to burn to DVD? Have you tried burning a different source file to DVD as a test?

Google translate ftw :D

"The recording process failed at 4x(5,540 KB/s)"

"The recording has failed. You can print or save an error report."

EDIT: Is the video/file you are trying to burn copy protected? Perhaps that can be an issue?

http://www.gidforums.com/t-1805.html indicates disabling the IMAPI CD BURNING COM Service solves the Nero "Power Calibration Error".

However, the article is old and refers to Windows XP. Does the IMAPI CD Burning Com Service exist on your system?

Here is a more recent article explaining the error: http://forum.my.nero.com/index.php?showtopic=12267

I have a G74SX-A1 and burned the Recovery DVD's and a Windows 7 ISO file on the same SlimType BD ODD. I recommend contacting your retailer to exchange your G74SX-XTI with a new unit (if you are still within the retailer's exchange/return period) if you cannot easily resolve this problem.

Hi there. Have you also tried using the built-in Windows DVD Maker to burn DVDs?

As I posted earlier, I think you've determined the ODD is defective. If you are still within your retailer's exchange/return period, exchange your defective laptop for a new unit, or accept a refund. If that is not possible, you could RMA the laptop to ASUS for Warranty repair, or purchase a new ODD.

you may try Imgburn, a free but robust tool to burn files onto DVD, though its interface can be a bit daunting maybe.
or follow the source below to learn how to burn files step by step
