according to the specification here:


Chipset Audio Processor :C-Media CMI8888DHT High-Definition Sound Processor (Max. 96KHz/24bit)

or it basically says that C-Media CMI8888DHT Audio Processor is maximum capable of 96KHz/24bit (what i put in bold in above quote from the official specification), but at the same time few lines below in the same specification:

Sample Rate and Resolution Analog Playback Sample Rate and Resolution :
44.1K/48K/88.2K/96K/176.4K/192KHz @ 16bit/24bit
Analog Recording Sample Rate and Resolution :

so, simple question really - if C-Media CMI8888DHT Audio Processor is indeed capable of maximum 96KHz/24bit, how's that then the analog playback and recording sample rate is up to 192KHz/24bit when the Audio Processor on the board can't handle such sample rate? thank you!

That's a typo, it should read 24 bit 192KHz. HQ will correct this ASAP.

thanks for the fast reply, i hope it's just a typo, because 192kHz/24bit capable DACs/ADCs chips + 96kHz/24bit capable Audio processor is not equal to 192kHz/24bit capable audio card, but rather to 96kHz/24bit capable sound card. also, i asked at the first place, because other brands of PCI-Express audio processors due to some hardware limitations are indeed with maximum capabilities of 96kHz/24bit especially in multichannel mode. so, it's good Asus will officially confirm CMI8888DHT is 192kHz/24bit capable for all 8 channels when are used simultaneously - that way if that's not true we can seek our rights as (future) customers for misleading advertisement.
