The G1 backpack fits the G53? On the store site, it says it fits up to 15.4" laptops... not the behemoth 15.6" that the G53 is. ;)

i bought one of these from walmart when i got my g51. the best buy versions were pretty bare bone and didn't include the backpack or mouse. i've had it for 2 years now and it's still in fantastic shape. it's protected my laptop well over the years as it's never suffered any drops or scratches.

one thing about this bag is it is VERY heavy duty. rivets on all the seams. it also holds a ton, the side straps can be loosened. i've put my g51, a targus chill mat cooler, mouse, power cord, hdmi cord, plantronics gamecom headset, xbox 360 controller, assorted cables, etc.

normally i use it to carry books, the laptop, a mouse, and the power cord.

a note about fitting. it fits a g51 perfectly, any bigger and it'd be loose, and smaller and it'd be too small. i'm not sure how much deeper a g53 is in comparison, but the profile is notably bigger so i'd doubt it'd fit, but if you were looking for it to go with a g1/g50/g51/g60 it'd be great. being a hp bag helps blend in well at a college campus, as opposed to advertising what's in the bag (Alienware Orion bags just seem to scream "Hey i'm worth about $500 to a pawn shop"). i really liked the black bags that came with the g73 because they were muted and not as flashy.
