any suggestions from you folks? i'd like a sub-woofer that could fit under the table this notebook usually sits at ... something less than say 120usd?

thx

no probs. i have them and for the price they cant be beat i dont think. i like plenty of bass and trebble along with some volume and these speakers take everything thrown at them. ive recomended them to peeps a few times and all have liked them as much as me i think.

i tend to agree. one of my g75vw's is strictly for music type stuff. i study and practice guitar as a hobby. so the speakers come in handy on the desk arrangement this notebook sits on. sweet headphones, thanks for the link

yeah, i went to fry's and bought em like yesterday. they sound really good for the bucks spent. hey let me ask, these g75vw's with its one speaker out jack, we get real 5.1 surround ? all the speakers are playing and the bass moves good. just curious about the surround sound

u wont get 5.1 with just the one jack out but if u have speaker fill selected in ur sound options then it will be coming from all speakers. u may get dolby surround. i dont know what specs the rog lappy's have so cant help on that side sorry but glad u like them ;)

I use Alesis M1Active (http://www.amazon.com/Alesis-M1Active-Studio-Monitor-Pair/dp/B0011Z87I0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1340648123&sr=8-1&keywords=alesis+m1+active+320+usb) for some music production (I plan to upgrade, but they are good for the price). Otherwise for streaming music via bluetooth, you'll be surprised by how good the Logitech Wireless Boombox (http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Boombox-iPhone-touch/dp/B005KQ2O26/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1340648314&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=logitech+wireless+boombox) sounds. It is portable, but you lose the bass if it's not plugged in.

I do wish the G75 had an optical out to hook up to my good old Klipsch GMX 5.1 gaming set. Only way to do it, I found is via a usb to optical adapter, but I haven't tried picking one up yet.
