So I posted a thread earlier this month but I was really busy and I couldn't get back to it,
but here is a quote with extra details
"I keep getting this error on my computer when trying to recover
http://i47.tinypic.com/29lk9zl.png
Plus under computer a recovery drive R: has appeared"

Someone told me to post my Disk Management
So here it is

Also I haven't created the recovery DVD's yet

The 25 GB ASUS Factory Restore partition does appear to exist at the beginning of Disk0, its proper location, but it is assigned Drive Letter R:, instead of being hidden. The Recovery partition is hidden so it will not be unintentionally modified or deleted by users or deleted when the disk is partitioned during the Recovery operation. I assume Ai Recovery expects to find a hidden partition at the beginning of Disk0, and generates the error you report because it can't find it.

I recommend you follow the procedure in http://www.7tutorials.com/how-hide-or-dismount-partition-windows to remove the R: Drive Letter from the RECOVERY partition. Then download the latest version of Ai Recovery and create your Recovery DVD's.

I typically reply to most posts with my phone. I finally looked at my G74SX and I see the hidden ASUS Recovery partition is unnamed on my G74SX system. I would remove the "RECOVERY" name on your hidden partition (if it still displays a name in Disk Manager) and retry creating the DVD's.

You may have to UNhide the partition to rename it. It is also possible the partition may have been modified somehow so that it is no longer useable, even if it is hidden.

Here is a thread from another user that experienced the same issue: http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?9866-Recovery-Disc-appeared-after-using-AI-RECOVERY
Unfortunately, we never know what happens if he attempts to USE the hidden partition after hiding it again. You could PM him to find out...

Can I just somehow purchase a set of CD's with all the files already configured in the CD so I dont have to go through all this trouble?
