Hi Hi,

I had a quick look on the site, but everything seems to be aimed at ppl whose fans aren't appearing to be runnning.

I have the opposite problem, no matter which power setting I choose (using the button next to the on/off switch) my fans are running full bore.

Proving to be quite annoying (not to me, but to the Mrs lol)

Any ideas?

Load up HWINFO64 and report your CPU and GPU fan speeds at idle (no other programs running).

That is maxed out... What are your CPU and GPU temperatures at idle?

What model# laptop is this and how long have you owned it?

Try entering the BIOS (F2 at the ASUS splash screen), then Load Optimized Defaults, and Save & Exit.

CPU is 33 and GPU is 29

Not sure which model I have lol... only picked it up last Friday.

Optimized defaults didn't make a change.

It's blowing heaps of cold air out the back.

Cheers

Take it back to the retailer and exchange it for a new laptop. Your laptop is defective. Idle fan speeds at those temperatures should be ~2100 RPM.

Got it back with a note basically saying no fault found.

Funny thing is that it's now running whisper-quiet. Go figure.

Sounds like it was an easy fix but they just didn't want to admit that there was an issue....
