I'm trying to build a G75VW-DS72 online, and the site messaged me saying that my build would be unstable with 16 GB of DDR3 1866/PC3 Ram (4 GB x 4). The Build is:

nVidia GeForce GTX 670M 3Gb GDDR5 DX11
3rd Gen Intel Ivy Bridge Core i7-3920XM, 2.9-3.8GHz, 22nm, 8MB, 55W
IC Diamond 24 Carat Thermal Compound on both CPU/GPU
16GB DDR3 1866/PC3 15000 Dual-Channel (4G X 4)
2 1000GB 5400rpm 2.5-inch 9.5mm 8MB SATA II 3Gb/s HDD
6X Blu-Ray Re-Writer/8X DVDRW Super Multi Combo Drive
Bigfoot networks Killer™ Wireless-N 1103 with three antenna
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit Pre-installed

Is this set-up stable, or should i change the RAM?

P.S. When the site sent the email telling me the build was unstable with the 1866 ram, the replacement rams they suggested were all above 16 Gbs, and would require me to upgrade to Windows 7 ultimate, which they didn't mention. Does that seem shady to anyone else?

Anyway, thanks in advance.

Welcome to the ROG Community !

As of right now ASUS has the G75 BIOS locked down and there is no way to modify the clock speeds on the RAM. If you were to insert any ram with speeds past 1600, it would be automatically down clocked to 1600.

They are correct about going past 16GB of ram.

Windows 7 HP has a limitation of 16GB of ram.

Windows 7 Pro and Windows 7 Ultimate have a hard cap of 192GB of ram

The G75VW has a technical limitation of 32GB of ram.
