My EP121 has bios version 401. Was looking to see if there was one newer and there are three--501, 601 and 701.

701 looks like it is specifically aimed at Windows 8 support. If I am going to keep Windows 7, should I just update to 601 and not fool with 701?

Anyone with experience on this. Perhaps I should leave well enough alone and stay with 401, but I am planning to upgrade the SSD and though the upgraded bios might be better.

Thanks

Generally as far as ASUS BIOS updates go, don't update unless something is broken or if the BIOS seriously enhances a feature that you use.

BIOS updates are a tricky beast and if the slightest mistake is made you can brick your unit.
