I basically screwed up a bit. I installed windows 7 ultimate using a disk and now it runs on the boot option which is my cd/dvd reader. Windows boot manager doesn't work anymore and I get a huge error message in red when I try to access it. I have the recovery disks but they're not working. What do I do?

If you boot from the disc you should try the repair option and do a startup repair.

@samorris,

1. is your windows ultimate disk with SP1? complications can occur if you use one without SP1. read item no. 6 at http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?17461-First-things-to-do-after-buying-G55-G75-based-notebooks

2. you said your recovery disks did not work. what happened exactly? could you perform the recovery process according to this thread (http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?16557-Step-by-Step-Using-ASUS-Recovery-DVDs-to-Restore-G75)?
