Hello!

I'm considering repasting the GPU, and also the CPU (if needed) on a G73jh but would like someone to take at look at these temps first before I proceed:

It's obvious that those are high... also that's with an external cooling unit... at idle... I suppose what I'm asking is what are the optimal temperatures?

Here is my G75:

I intend to at least blow out the fans first, but I'm pretty sure it will need a thorough internal cleaning with GPU rapasting, the fans blow fine just very hot... I've watched the video for repasting the GPU, but will the CPU also be needed?

Thanks!

well on my completely stock g73jh im getting 55c idle it's been on all day and holding at that temp. as for gpu with od2 vbios on performance on gpu im getting 56 c on disp IO shader temps and mem are higher.

seems this one's running hot then... would you recommend doing both the gpu and cpu? I've only found videos for the GPU, but once I've gotten it down that far, I know I can handle the rest... I've done this work plenty of times before, just I don't like taking apart laptops, and haven't done so to this model...

There's a good disassembly pdf on notebookreview, i say if your gunna repaste your cpu it wouldnt hurt to repaste your gpu i mean its right near the cpu.
