sometimes it just won't wake up... and then all the fans go to MAX (loud)
have to hard shut off...

temps are fine during games etc.. always under 80deg for gpu

Have the latest power4gear driver, latest WHQL nvidia 270.xx

have the latest sound drivers and THX driver

and bios 205

also i've done a MEM test etc

anyone have any ideas?
iit happens sometimes when i put the comptuer to sleep / hibernate and sometimes it will happen when it's just on a fresh bootup

what is the lates power 4 hybrid software?

I got my ASUS ROG G73SW-3DE last month...the Driver DISC 1.0 that came with it is still the same as the one on ASUS Website...

I want the newer software too...the new VX7 and the G74SX has the newer version...but Im not sure if they are compatible with the SW...

If you are running SOftware not designed for the SW maybe thats the porblem...

no, it was doing it b4... so i updated it... hmm i'm at work atm.. i'll link later

could it be the HDD not functioning?
i've read about the firmware upgrade for the HDDs....

i have 2 x 750... came stock with my asus g73jw

does anyone know if this could be the case??

My ASUS ROG G73SW-3DE came with Seagate Momentus XT, came with DS22 firmware...upgraded to DS25...

Not seeing any difference...

Should i RMA it..
i formated my OS drive, reinstalled windows 7 SP1 dvd.

working fine last night.. shut it down...
booted it up this morning... just black screen and FANS really loud and to hard shut off.
been happening a lot yesteday.

done a memory test when i first got it, it was fine..
HOW annoying

sounds like a chipset problem...or gpu...My old HP DV9225us had the same issue...it was the GPU PGA not contacting the chip when it was getting hot cause the motherboard was deforming...

it could be the same deal here...

05-05-2011, 03:39 PM
well it's still relatively new.. never gotten that HOT

cause it's the nvidia version not the AMD one...

should i open it up?
easy fix?

05-05-2011, 04:11 PM
Well here is the thing...once you opened it up it voids your warranty...if you ended up not fixing it...you have to pay to fix it...ill wait till my warranty is over beofore opening the thing...

05-05-2011, 04:32 PM
yea i'm aware... hmmm
well it's weird.. cause i can run the GPU at 100% for ages.. temp goes up to 80 deg... and it's stable as a rock...
it just randomle doesn't boot and randomly shuts off...
could be a bios thing... maybe i should revert to stock bios version??

start with updating the chipset drivers... use "setup.exe -overall" command with the Intel installer. the .1030 package should update everything to Then SATA drivers, then the rest of your hardware. Also don't forget SP1.

just updated to Intel INF Update Utility

installed a clean windows 7 with sp1 intergrated....

it's bare bones.. still freezes..
sometimes just freezes have to hard shut off... (when just browsing, or it's left alone)
or sometimes the screen turns off... goes slient and dead.. then the fans go to 100%

it's happened twice in the last 15 min.

just flashed the bios back to 205.....

i ran furmark yesterday for 15 min... stayed around 83 degrees

i've only had this laptop for 2 months..... i got it while i was in taiwan.. may have lost the receipt o_O

what could be wrong with this thinggggggg

Mine needed a new motherboard when same symptoms occurred.

05-07-2011, 01:27 PM
