Hey guys,
just a quick question about if it's worth it to upgrade my RAM from 8 to 12 or 16. I use my Asus G75VW to do some photoshop or mainly fps based gaming. Your thoughts?

With the current price of RAM i'd do it.

The amount of actual perceivable difference varies per user based on their usage habits

Depending on the size of your photoshop images, it may make a difference, it may not. If you are going to upgrade, go straight to 16 GB, it's only $30-$50. 32 GB would be about $100-$150, and is likely not worth it.

Amen!

There was thread a while ago about a guy who upgraded his RAM from 12 to 16 and saw some pretty impressive speed gains, not because of the memory being more (his was using way less than 10 GB, but because adding a 4th memory module allowed the system to operate in dual-channel mode.

Sometimes 4x4 is more than 8x2.

Have a nice day.
