Hello all
So I change me 1T 5400RPM HDD to 120g ssd (sundick extreme)
Now what do I do with the windows and all the asus software ??
I did burn 5 AI recovery but how do I boot it
Or is there something else I need to do
So what is it ? :)

just normaly go to bios set boot priority from cd (normaly it's already in default), then just insert the first cd/dvd from backup u created and it will start the process, just follow the guide after it.

you can choose to:

1. run the recovery dvds on the ssd. it's best you do this without the 1tb stock drive plugged in. you can refer here (http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?16557-Step-by-Step-Using-ASUS-Recovery-DVDs-to-Restore-G75&country=&status=) for the recovery process.

2. install a fresh windows. you can grab the official drivers from asus website, or, follow the g75vw clean install guide here (http://forums.pctweakers.net/showthread.php/129-ASUS-G75VW-Clean-Install-Guide)

if possible, leave the 1tb stock drive alone, until you're sure everything is fine.

note that the new firmware about TRIM fix for sandisk extreme hasn't come out yet. it's better to patch it first imo.

My vote is on #2, it gets rid of all the bloatware, which is really nice. Get the drivers from ASUS website and from vendor websites (nVidia at least).

me too :D then use windows backup and restore for recovery. simple and neat.
