Fur-Mark GPU Test Results:

I got my ROG laptop recently. I was testing Battle Field 3, Counter Strike GO from past one week. The temperature is shooting to 90 degrees Celsius when i start the game and stays around 90+ through out the game.

The idle temperature flickers around 50-59 degrees Celsius based on my room temperature. I read in forums that my processorIntel i7 3610QM has the integrated chip disabled, and so i don't see any display adapter other than GTX 660M in windows device manager. Also, the idle GPU core clock measures 140 MHz on average, probably to do the OS rendering work. So, I am assuming that is the reason for the idle temperature. In any case, can you please tell me the idle temp range for G55VW.

I have run the Fur-mark GPU test, please see the results in the attached picture. I don't think they are that good either. Let me know if understood it wrongly. I saw it as 4 FPS. For CS-GO, i get around 27 FPS for 1600 by 900 resolution with all HIGH settings excluding anti-aliasing. Now, when it comes to BF3, i tried 1920 by 1080 as suggested in one of the form with custom video settings. The FPS is horrible, 5-7. The only config when i am getting 27 FPS for BF 3 is 800 by 600 with all low setting. I am pretty sure that is not the case with anybody else after reading the forum.

Can somebody please suggest me what is going inside my G55VW.

Thank you,

Thermal throttling. Sounds like you need as RMA looks like something is FUBAR with your cooling system.

Mind you the G75VW has slightly better cooling but after 3 hours of furmark at 1350mhz on the core i'm only at 72c. For stock clocks your temps are way way way to high.

It's defective. 90C for that it's way too much.

Thank you :) I waited a month to get this one and it is defective :( Now, i need to get it replaced. That is another long process.

Once again thanks for getting back to quickly.
