Hi, so I recently purchased the G75- AS71 and got it in 2 days. Already it seems like I'm having problems with this laptop. I also have updated the graphics card and done windows updates. No matter what it likes to freeze at random times. For instances when I was looking up results on if there is a fix for this, the laptop froze. When it freezes, I am unable to move the mouse and the display does not move. From what I was reading a lot of people just re-installed windows 7. If anyone else is having similar problems and worked out a solution, I would be glad to hear it. Thank you.

if you have mcafee on your system try disable or uninstall it and see how it goes.

I just uninstalled it. Why would McAfee cause this problem?

So even after when I uninstalled McAfee, while playing Starcraft 2 it froze up on me again.

bundled antivirus are often the causes of many glitches. if you haven't done the things described here (http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?17461-First-things-to-do-after-buying-G55-G75-based-notebooks), i would suggest you read it through first.

have you rebooted your computer after uninstall?

Yeah man, I rebooted the laptop after I uninstalled it. It did boot up a lot faster but during the time I was playing a game it froze up on me. This time make a weird noise coming from the speakers. I just can't figure out why it keeps freezing on me.

Mine was doing this too. I ended up RMAing it. When I got the new onw I rebuilt from scratch following the process outlined below. It's a bit drastic but worth the effort. Make sure you create a recovery set in case you need to rma.

build from scratch - http://forums.pctweakers.net/showthread.php/129-ASUS-G75VW-Clean-Install-Guide

Create DVD backup - http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?16557-Step-by-Step-Using-ASUS-Recovery-DVDs-to-Restore-G75&highlight=pctweakers

Good luck.

Thanks man, I ended up doing a factory restore and uninstalled asus live update and mcafee. I'm hoping this will fix it. If not, I'll try the windows 7 thing. Kinda of a noob question but since my computer didn't come with a windows 7 disk am I going to have to buy it?
