Hello. When overclocking my 3770k I get a load of BSOD, of course this is due to low voltage normally but I even get it at 1.5 vcore for a 47ghz OC
Also I use the OC key to check temps on the cpu. The value on the temps are very low at 1.5 vcore, around 35C
I also have AI Suite installed that shows the temps rising above 80C

What might be the problem? A bad CPU?
Also how come the OC key which is directly connected to the BIOS show such low temps while the windows app shows high temps?

1.5 at Vcore is pretty high for the 3770k! You do need to cool that seriously...

What are the BSOD codes you're getting?

a lot of different ones, i use win 8. The 3770k is cooled s no prob there. Main BSOD is whea_uncorrectable_error

What is the code? It should look like 0x000something...

"The 3770k is cooled s no prob there." - what is your cooler? I heard people saying this with stock coolers too... :)

It's a wc loop. I have the parts listed in the mod section. Win 8 doesn't have the same BSOD as the previous versions.

Oh, I do remember that! Yeap, that should be OK...

Regarding the Win8, have no idea! Never tried to OC a system with it...

You had a tread about OC'ing with BCLK - right? What is your BCLK and multi now?

Krindor

I haven't tried bclk yet as i can't even get it stable at 47 multi so right now it's 100x47 mhz with 1.5 vcore

Could you post an image with your BIOS settings? Would be easier to spot if something is not right there... CPU and memory settings...

Also, what was your last stable OC, and what were the temps at that stage?

I were able to run 100x45 with 1.3vcore. But I don't think I actually ran prime 95. temps where 25 idle and 30 load
ambient temp around 20-25C

OK, that's good... what are you measuring temps with? Be sure that you're using only one application at a time!!! (otherwise you may have misreadings)

As I said, post some BIOS settings...

I would post some BIOS settings but it's 2:30 am here and my rad fans sounds lik jets so I will post em tomorrow.
RAM is XMP OCed to 2400mhz with 1.625 volt
Everything else should be at factory setting.
Yeah I know that running 2 apps at a time gives misreadings but the OC key is running even at the bios screen still showing the same temps at idle. I use the OC key and Ai suite.

Are you using the XMP settings instead of Manual in BIOS? That may be an issue...

The first rule of OC'ing (for me at least) is to OC one component at a time! Set back your memories at default (timings, voltage, everything), then try to OC the CPU... but yes, it's late here too... will be around tomorrow too!

Yeah I will try that. I have had some thoughts about the memory causing problems especially during Prime 95 which puts the ram under load. I will set my BIOS to default setting and try to OC just the CPU from that point.
Good Night! :)

Reset Everything to Optimized Default. Meaning most stuff are at auto. Changed multi to 45 BCLK is manually set to 100, for some reason at auto it's 100.5 Vcore is set to 1.34. Nothing else is ocd or changed. Also the temp difference between the OC key and AI suite still is weird. With the current stable oc the OC key shows 35 and AI suite shows 50. I ran them individually.

Hey, Krindor! Are you looking at the core temps? Are you sure that what you're seeing through the OC key and what Ai Suite shows, are the core temps? I'm not... if I would be you, I would delete/uninstall Ai Suite forever... if you want serious OC'ing, do it from BIOS! If you want temp monitoring use HWMonitor or AIDA64 or Core Temp (only one of them)! And remember, the temps you're mostly interested in are the core temps...

I'm Always Ocing by the Bios, never going to use the AI suite for Ocing. What I see on the OC key osd is the cpu temps, might not be the core temps.
I have AIDA64 trial version.... most programs out there are pretty unstable with win 8 at the moment.
Would be nice if ROG included an OC monitoring programs with the MVE....

Uninstalled AIDA and AI suite and got HWmonitor,

Ah, always forget that you're on Win8... :(

Hehe np :) , I'm getting temps around 60C atm after running Prime 95 for around 40 min. The OC is stable but I would've hoped it would've been working with a lower vcore so the temps would've been lower..... Oh also need to get myself a 3pin to molex to install the last fan for my rad might lower the temps by a bit :).... Still why have an OC key that doesn't show the temps of the cores, and it doesn't seem to work with usb keyboards...

Argh after 1 hour the temps where rising towards 80C.....

Have no idea, mate... never used OC key... :) Just setting up a RIVE based system, maybe will try it...

60C with prime95 is very good! Imagine, there is no other application (maybe IBC) to stress so much your CPU... meaning that in everyday use, you will be below that... Sincerely, I could not stop with OC'ing there... :) Until 75C on cores it's safe to with 3770k...

Yeah gaming temps would be around 40C. And no way in hell I'm stopping here xD. I'm going to OC until I hit the max possible OC, within 75 C, but after 60 min the temps are Rising towards 80C.... Oh well, 1 fan make a lot of difference with the temps. I think one fan is enough to lower temps by around 10-20C :)

Gonna stop for today and put on the fill hole plug on the res, been bleeding the system for a while.
Oc key is ocing from the BIOS so the need of restarting everytime you want to change something mayor is gone.

Are your readings correct? I have almost have wwwthe same setup. Newly built. All still on cheap Intel stock cooler. OC to 4600 with vcore at 1.33. Temps rise to 70. celcius in prime. But with upcoming water cooling I got plAnned. Temps and OC will be lot easier. So,your 3770k does perform not as I would.expect... Running 3dmark keeps cpu at 40 ...
