Good evening, I'm a little new in terms of 3D technology for watching movies on my pc, I have a G75VW DS73, 3D ready, and nvidia 3d vision glasses. with games starting the 3d is easy, but my question is how to watch 3D movies, those that are side by side or some youtube videos that are also in 3d I can not see, someboby can tell me how or which formats does the 3D movie playback with? Thanks and greeting!

I know that 3D works with the DVD/BlueRay player software wich is pre-installed.
For 3D MKV files I didnt found any free player software. Suposedly someone is working for 3D support of VLC Mediaplayer and said it will be ready by September, but.... seems like its not there. Or at least not in an official update.

I meanwhile buyed (40 ) a software with the name "Stereoscopic player"

Wich plays those files well. But so far 1.81 it does not automatically recognise anything. You need to tell it all information like side by side or up and down? Wich is the left and wich is the right and whats the format 4:3, 16:9, 16:7 or whatever? It however memorizes it for a movie you once set up.

For youtube try this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olz4i50xYxw
1. left click on 3D settings option:

2. then click on Change viewing method...

3. and choose HTML5 stereo v...

browser firefox 15.0.1, plugin NVIDIA 3D Vision

For watching 3D movies I'm using PowerDVD 12, trial version is here http://www.cyberlink.com/products/powerdvd/overview_en_EU.html

it can play: Half & Full SBS, Over/Under, also you can watch 2D movie in 3D - of course result is not so good like native 3D source
formats: mkv, avi, wmv, flv ...

3D settings are:
1. General: usually Left eye image first is used in movies

2. Source format: sometimes Auto detect doesn't work correctly

3. Display device: choose NVIDIA 3D Vision Ready Monitor

This player is not 100% stable, but I couldn't find better
