Yes.

You should start to see drivers now and more closer to release

Windows 8 did not alter the driver model from Windows 7 IIRC, so just like the Windows 2000 to XP transition and Vista to 7, in a pinch using drivers for the older OS should be a viable solution. However, as pointed out, you should see officially badged drivers coming out already and moving forward.

Alright thank you very much for the quick response. Hope all my games run as well as they do on Windows 7. Can't wait! I wonder how the button next to the power button will work now.. oh and upgrading to windows 8 will be cheaper since I have windows 7 installed correct?

The Asus drivers update site is adding "windows 8" drivers to all their models there.
I imagine more to follow once Win8 is officially launched on Oct 26, or even a few days before.
right now just basic drivers are available, like "touchpad".
you will need to install touchpad drive first thing, cause with Win8 there's new gestures that won't work with the latest Win7 driver.
But everything else should work just fine.

Sweet, I can't wait for the Windows 8 Driver support for the G55! Performance on Windows 8 is crazy good.

I am using Win 8 and everything is working fine besides the USB 3.0 driver (USBs work anyway), touchpad driver and the power 4 gear driver which is not really necessary.

USB is getting USB 3 speeds or no?

I haven't tested the speeds but things are transferring normal, so I don't see the big issue. After all 26-th is coming and so are the updated drivers :)

Mouse (razer tiapan) running very sluggish. Try to run TF2/Black Messa, VERY bad frame rates. I don't know if I need graphic drivers or what. The start menu looks nice though.. lol

Of course you need graphic drivers. What kind of question is that?!?

Didn't mean for it to come out that way, I mean I might need windows 8 drivers. I thought the windows 7 drivers would work fine with W8, can anyone link me a working driver download for my 670M (via W8)? It would be much appreciated

Nvidia's GeForce mobile drivers work fine, and they are certified for both Windows 7/8. Just grab em off the Nvidia site. I'm running the latest beta and they are working perfectly fine.

Oh, sorry didn't quite get you! And yes, one advice from me is always download your drivers from the nvidia website. Never rely on drivers that you have saved somewhere on a flash drive from previous times, since the drivers get updated sometimes quite often.

Most of the WIndows 7 drivers work anyway, so the main things I'm waiting on are an ASUS Windows 8 compatible version of Power4Gear Hybrid, and newer Atheros wireless driver package (the WIndows 7 Atheros package bluescreens Windows 8 forcing a system restore to prior to the install).

Other than that, you can get driver coverage for literally everything.

*EDIT* and that's not saying wireless doesn't work, it works just fine with native Windows 8 drivers, I'm just talking about an actual Atheros driverpackage which will support Windows 8.
