My computer keeps losing the correct time. According to Windows I am in EST time zone, which is correct. But when I boot up, the computer will say 4 hrs. later (Greenwich meantime?) So I go into Windows date/time and synchronize the clock, and it updates to the correct time.

Does it have something to do with the fact that when I turn off my computer (The Asus MVE) I also shut down the power to it?

Any ideas? :confused::confused:

May need to check if your CMOS battery is retaining a charge... is the BIOS clock off too?

Did you try Clearing CMOS?
And if it didnt work try Replacing the battery

Replace your battery in the motherboard.

And make sure you have selected your correct time zone in OS.

Thanks for the replies. For the last few days, the clock has been maintaining good time. I'll keep an eye on it and see if it happens anymore. I'm thinking it may have been because I had Windows synchronizing with a bad internet time site. I am back on Windows time site since it has been working ok.
