I am looking into purchasing a bluetooth module for my G73SW and am wondering about compatibility. The most common models I can find on eBay are BT-183 (2.0) and BT-253 (2.1), so I would like to know if it is worth it to pay the extra $10 or so for a 2.1 capable module over a 2.0?

Here are some examples:

2.1 Bluetooth module (BT-253) (http://cgi.ebay.com/2-1-Bluetooth-Module-cable-BT-253-fr-ASUS-g73jw-g73jh-/140486226621?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20b5a1b2bd)

2.0 Bluetooth Module (BT-183) (http://cgi.ebay.com/ASUS-2-0-Bluetooth-Module-BT-183-cable-G71G-G71Gx-G71-/130462330401?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e60292e21)

I know that best Buy has their own version...Their g73SW's strip down to 1GB VRAM, 1600x900 res, 750GB Standard HDD, 1066Mhz DDR3, No ROG BackPack, No ROG Mouse...$1299...and if you want Blu-Ray and 1920x1080 its $1499...But I didnt know they took the Bluetooth out too...

Compared to an G73SW-A1...1.5GB VRAM, 1920x1080 res, 1TB Hybrid HDD, 1333Mhz DDR3, with ROG BackPack, with ROG Mouse...$1699...just $200 more, the A1 is actualy cheaper...and yes it comes with Bluetooth...

Id suggest if you just got it Id return it and order online...some sites dont even charge sales tax and offer free shipping...

But if you have it for a while now and realy need Bluetooth...id go for a 2.1 version.

I actually had bought the G73JH-RBBX05 when it was on sale so I got it plus a 3 year warranty for $1700, then when it went poof they upgraded me to the G73SW. If I could have afforded $1700 for the laptop before a warranty I probably would have done so, but alas I was stuck using my grandparents Best Buy credit card to buy my laptop >_>. Besides, I didnt really care about having 1080 on my laptop. I have a desktop and a PS3 both connected to a 40" flat-screen for watching shows and movies in true HD.

Anywho, thanks for the advice, 2.1 it is.
