Hey, I am stuck! I use win 8 - 64bit, and the problems is due to my new soundcard.... ASUS ROG XONAR PHOEBUS!!!

Cannot install the latest sound card driver for my asus sound card.

Have downloaded the latest driver here:

http://www.asus.com/Multimedia/Audio_Cards/ROG_Xonar_Phoebus/#download

but the driver will not install....

It says...

"Xonar Phoebus needs extra power to function. Confirm, that you have connected the internal powercord to the card, before you install and use the card".

Hrmmmm? I click yes! I do have installed the extra power cord for the soundcard.

I have installed the card properly, there are light on it, even the connector for the headset shows lights, in the little holes, where to connect the cords for my headset. I use a 950W power supply, so it must be all enough. No problems there....

The installation is running, but now it says....

"Please insert your ASUS Phoebus Audio sound card device"

???

I keep clicking OK, for 3 times, and then the installation shot down.

???

How do I fix that problem??? :(

All Yours.

uninstall leftovers from the drivers (if possible) reboot and shutdown your pc
remove your card
power up and boot into windows
shut down pc
install card again
powerup pc install drivers again

hope this works for you (worked here)

Never had this problem myself but I suggest that you may also try the Xonar Phoebus in another PCI-E slot on your mainboard.
Maybe there is some IRQ-sharing with the slot the card is currently installed which causes the problem.

Make sure to remove the onboard drivers and disable the onboard audio in the bios. Thanks
