Hello,

i bought a N56VZ and a SSD to upgrade the system right away.
Now I want to reinstall windows 8 on the new drive. I don't want to use a system image or cloned drives. (differing sizes, clean install etc..)

as i understand the windows 8 license is written in the BIOS. But as i also understand the only way to install Windows 8 is to install Windows 7 and then upgrade to Windows 8? What i don't understand is how i should install Windows 7 without a Windows 7 license ... ?

or is there a Windows 8 iso available that will automatically be activated after installation?

help would be appreciated

best regards

solved, found a windows 8 iso. and its probably a good idea to read out the product key of the original setup, even though in this case it registered automatically after clean install.

HI, Win 7 is OA2.0, product key is writing at BIOS, Win8 is OA3.0, it is difference, so you need offical Win8 after install you will connect to internet than auto active.
