View Full Version : mSATA connector of B53S - how to activate it for SSD ?

Just opened up my B53S to check if it has an internal mSATA connector. And, yes indeed, there it was.

However, connecting an mSATA SSD to it didn't really work out, since BIOS didn't find it.

Is it there just for decoration or could I actually make it work (and if the latter, could anyone tell me how) ?

Make sure that the BIOS security settings haven't disabled it. Go into the BIOS, check the "Security" tab, and make sure that no SATA channels are disabled.

My BIOS is 214, updated it immediatelly after booting up the NB.

VBIOS: 2111.1I250800.01
EC ver B03D090000
ME FW ver 7.0.10.1203

I wanted to hold on to the HDD while taking advantage of the mSATA drive (first ensuring this configuration actually works, then "swapping" them by copying the os on SDD & setting it bootable).

I could go for a "ODD-caddy-SDD" configuration, I guess, but only if it is the last option.

Everything is "UnLock" as if "currently in use".

OK, then that is good. I don't know what else it might be, then.
