Is not the answer ... I know that the laptop is able to work 1866 ... I wish I had bought ROG

With 8 GB, possibly, though I would peg it at <50% probability. Can you post the specs of the RAM in your computer now? Mainly, I am wondering about the voltage (1.35 vs 1.5). I know that some of the older G-series notebooks would run at 1866 speeds up to 8 GB of RAM. Beyond that (all 4 slots filled), they down-clocked to 1333.

Zygomorphic thanks for the reply

You will be able to run this type of RAM memory, but you WILL NOT be able to run it on its maximum frequency, because the motherboard supports only up to 1600 MHz. If you install it, it will automatically down-clock to 1600. Its not worth your money!

You use 4 1866 modules? Wow! :o Definitely try it then, you'd be able to tell the rest of us. :)

No 2 modules 4Gb (4x2=8)

OK, that is what I had figured. I use the other convention (2x4 = 4 GB x 2 modules). Just wanted to make sure.

Wait so if you put 4 sticks it clocks down to 1600mhz? and what if you use two 8 gig 1866mhz ram sticks will those clock down too?

high load on the controller...4 sticks - 1600

high load on the controller...4 sticks - 1600

that's what i suspected :/ i think these laptops are not ready for these kind of high-end RAMs (with some sensible reasons imo); so i go quantity, not quality this time lol!

What if i use two 8 gig 1866mhz like these? http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233382
Assuming that Newegg and Corsair got the specs right.
