View Full Version : Strange stuff happening when I play FarCry 3 and NFS MW 2012

I noticed that whenever I play one of those 2 games on my G55 in 1920x1080 it is always stuttering no matter what! The stuttering goes away only if all the settings are almost at low or no detail at all. But whenever I switch to 1600x900, or any resolution that is lower than 1080p. I can run the games at maximum detail with DX11 and AA at maximum, with maximum FPS.

Is it from the GPU ? Is it made for lower resolutions in mind when it was on the drawing board? Or is it some miscalculation ASUS did when building the laptop? I doubt 320x180 more pixels on the resolution are too much to handle, after all the shadows, AA and textures are so much more graphics intensive. For Christs sake there are 1080p martphones nowadays! This is 660 series nVidia what the hell is going on?!?! At first I thought the AA, shadows and textures were the cause so I started putting them down level by level, but when I reached low settings I knew something was not right. So I cranked everything to the max, but lowered the res, and voila, everything worked so fine!

Now can someone please help me or at least give me a radical explanation, because I am starting to get a bit frustrated?

Haha yea man. ggBanks you have been on some OLDD drivers ! :p

Make sure you get the 310.70 drivers asap.. The 310 series of drivers came out early in because it adds alot of support for Far Cry 3, Planetside 2, Hitman Absolution, Borderlands and alot of the new titles..

Also they have HUGE boosts in performance for Kepler based GPU's which is infact what the 660M is based on..

Whatt ? Why whats wrong with you man ? I love beta's, its like pre-release goodies why would you not like beta's ?

Nvidia is known for having extremely stable betas anyway, 99.9% of people on this forum are using beta drivers lol, ive been using beta drivers since i bought this laptop.. Its not gonna blow up you system now isit ? If anything (which is highly highly unlikley) You might experience some wierd issue or something that isnt right, in that case you jus re-install your old ones ! Simple :)
