Hi Guys. Since a couple of days I am noticing that, when ever i do something which involves display mode switching ( like extending the desktop, starting a game etc. ) the brightness goes straight to 100%. When i try to readjust it with fn+F5 it goes straight back as it was set before. Not that this is a big issue but still it annoys me.

I found this on the web : http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus-gaming-notebook-forum/696690-urgent-question-g75-g55-owners-regarding-brightness-issue.html

It looks that guy has the same issue with a G55.

What about your rigs ?

My brightness is always at 100% so I wouldn't know. But if you are concerned about protecting your eyes, get this little tool called F.Lux (http://stereopsis.com/flux/).

This issue persists with the VW models as well. I am quite "surprised" that ASUS didn't fix this with the new VX models. I guess my next computer will most definitely NOT be ASUS!

Yep this is the forced brightness issue that will mess up your eyes if you have it set at a comfortable lower level and everything you enter a game it resets back to 100% and when u tab in or out you have to manually readjust. There is no fix, no word from Asus and they are certainly ignoring it. We have been complainin about this since August/September but they do not care.

Yes I have this on my G55 and it's so annoying. Asus hasn't done anything about it and I can't believe it's on their new flagship model as well. Can Asus fix this for the G55 and G75???? This lack of support is so frustrating, especially when your laptop costs $1500

Get F.Lux (http://stereopsis.com/flux/) if you don't want your eyes to get damaged from the brightness.

You're not understanding the issue here. The brightness of the screen will reset to full brightness everytime a change in resolution is detected, whether it be games or videos. Even with Flux installed it will reset the brightness to 100% even if I had it at 20% before. This is a very annoying issue that additional software cannot fix. Asus needs to patch and fix this themselves.
