Hey,
I just got my laptop back from an RMA where they replaced my motherboard and now the back light for the keyboard does not work at all. Is there any possible software issues that could cause this or would I need to replace the keyboard?

Does the keyboard backlight flash once for about a second during a cold boot?

If not, the cable that supplies power from the motherboard to the keyboard backlight may be disconnected or defective. The cable is quite fragile and easily broken.

I'd try sending it back and PM cl-scott on this forum with your RMA information and request his assistance.

If it DOES flash, try the Fn+F4 key combination to turn on the keyboard backlight or uninstall the ASUS ATK Package, REBOOT, and reinstall the ATK Package.

you can check kb HW first, unplug kb to check FPC connect or install ATK to check function key.
