AR9485 WLAN Driver v10.0.0.209 (http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/DriversForWin8/WLAN/WLAN_Atheros_Win8_64_Z1000209.zip)

Just right click on setup and run as administrator. It will update your old driver

Installation went with out any problems, I'm still connecting at 64Mbps, my wife's HP touch screen Qualcomm Atheros AR9462, connects to the same WIFI at 130Mbps. I guess we just got a crap wifi adapter with these GW75vw's, at least I stay connected I always have I never had the issues of low transfer speeds or disconnecting as I have seen other have. This driver installs much easier than previous versions. Just unzip and run the setup.exe from administrator.

I don't see any difference myself was hoping that I would connect at 130mbps but I don' t think this adapter has that capability

Latest Atheros drivers I'm using are 10.0.0.221. Win7 or Win8 should be the same.

@Energy2000: I don't know if this driver fits to AR8151. It's not listed there. Just try it.

Maybe I'm missing something here... but I followed your link and downloaded the .zip but I don't see any sort of exe to install the new drivers. Can you possibly let me know how to go about updating these?

Yup, sorry. There is no exe inside. That are the plain driver files without an extra setup tool.
Just extract them into a folder. Then go to device manager, choose update on your wifi device and select the second option for searching the drivers on your laptop.
