hello ROGers, i just got my new ASUS G75VX and it is absolutely awesome! But before i got it, i did not realise it can with a slow 5400RPM 750gb HDD and startups were slow, so i want to get an SSD or SSHD when i have the money but is it important to move/buy a new windows 8 because i am kinda lazy.

You will need to reinstall Windows 8 when you replace your HDD for the best "smooth" experience.

You will definitely not regret getting a decent 256GB SSD for it when the time comes (sooner better than later, I suggest).

With SSD Windows is totally different now. Still not perfect, but, man, big difference.

I did buy a G75vx they said 2x750 5200rpm but it is 7200, do not trust the vendor informations you better check your hardware.

Not at all, just create a backup DVD of your OS, be careful while doing this I did try to do it by my own but I removed the recovery partition and I finally wasn't able to create that DVD and I had to download a W8 iso, instaling it on my SSD and typing my windows key that I took from a software before. You better call Asus if you don't really know about it and they will send you a pdf with instructions. W8 recovery is hidden, they will tell you everything about it.

you can use 3th part to ghost HDD to other HDD if you don't want ot install again, also you can download or buy win 8 OS to install to new hdd.

Yes. Macrium Reflect is useful for me.

This looks like http://www.hgst.com/travelstar-5k1000 which is 5400rpm. This is okay, since this is what came with your laptop as you ordered it.

So you'll just need to get a 2.5" SSD, say 256GB and then install Windows on it by the 3 methods described in this thread:
1. Using Windows Recovery method
2. Using Windows 8 Fresh Install
3. Using "Ghost" method eg. Macrium Reflect
