I'd like to know if there's any other way to update the drivers on the G75VX model with official Asus approved drivers /I mean all the drivers installed/. So far I have used the following 3 methods:

1. the link http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/G75VX/#support which is for that particular model;
2. the Asus Live Update utility which was pre-installed in the computer;
3. The Device Manager options.

I know the issue of driver updates has been discussed a lot in this forum but I still think driver updates for that model are a bit of a mess. For instance my VGA driver is still 306.14 and when I go to the official G75VX support site (method 1) I can see
there's a new version 307.07. However you guys are talking about versions 311.03 or higher. So where do you see them and if they are really official Asus drivers why aren't they here: http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/G75VX/#support. Besides, when I run the Asus Live Update utility it always says "Your computer is up to date. No updates". It is the same story with the Device Manager - it says the driver is up to date. The Nvidia Control Panel says the same. But this is ridiculous because even the G75VX support page states there's a new version - 307.07.
The same goes for the Realtek audio driver and maybe other drivers so a bit of advice on updating drivers would be appreciated.

Hi,

If you want to stick to official ASUS approved drivers, use just the ones posted on the ASUS download site (http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=G75VW&p=3&s=388) .
It looks like you may have a download link from the ASUS global site which may be fine (although it has version *3.0707 while my U.S. download site link does not?), but I usually try to stick to the usa.asus.com site for the U.S. region.
Our ROG downloads (http://rog.asus.com/notebook/17-inch/g75vw/) can be used too and appears to be the same as the U.S. region downloads.

ASUS also has a 'secret' download site (http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=VGA&p=3&s=479&os=36&hashedid=n/a) for unapproved vga drivers used by newer or current ASUS notebook models.

You can go to the nVidia website to try to find drivers for your notebook nVIdia graphics card as well, but these haven't been approved on the ASUS side and may not always work that well.

If you aren't having any problems and don't have a reason, you may not want to update drivers just in case something goes wrong although I wouldn't expect this to happen often with the approved drivers.

The ASUS driver downloads site also includes the date they were posted (I see the 3.0614 driver was posted 10.20.12), so you can get an idea how long ago they were released.

Hope this helps!
