Hello all! I'm new here.
I'm helping my wife get a laptop. It will primarily be used by her for autocad. I will also use it occasionally by me for 3D animation/modeling/rendering, and if I ask nicely I may get to game on the road with it :)

Anyway, after a trip to Fry's my wife fell in love with the look and feel of the G55vw. Plus she wants a 17" (but if it breaks the budget, 15" may have to do).

Thus brings forth the G75. Well there are a million different models and I can't figure out where to buy or what to get. I'll start off by saying I'm in the USA.

I was about to pull the trigger on the G75vw-TH72 on xotic - this one: http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-g55vwdh71-p-4971.html

But the sales rep told me it won't be released. This was a punch to the gut. It has everything! 16gb Ram, gtx670m, blu ray, i7 3630qm, . And the best part?! It's under $1400!!!! Grrr!

So is there any G75 that I can buy with the same specs (or similar enough) for roughly the same price?

Tiger Direct also has the TH72 listed, but I thought it wasn't getting released.

I would REALLY appreciate it if someone could point me toward a model (bonus points if it has Win7 instead of 8). If I can't get a g75 with similar specs for a similar then I'll have to start looking at different brands, but like I said: the Wife likes the look and feel more than any other laptop.

Thanks!!!
