Hello. I need to buy a 17.3" laptop, and if you can help me it will be very nice!
In terms of work I will use for autocad, archicad, blender, adobe premiere and visual studio.
In terms of games i will use for cs: global offensive and far cry 3!
Asus g75vw : (8intel i7 3630
500GB + 256GB SSD
GTX 670 3gb DDR5
16GB RAM
Price:1620 )

Asus N76VZ: ( intel i7 3630
1TB 5400 rpm
GT 650M 4gb DDR3
16GB RAM
Price:1170 )

I want to know if you think that asus n76 lets me do everything I need in optimal conditions or if is better pay more 450 and buy asus g75vx.
And also i would like to know if any of you have the asus G75 and if you are satisfied and if you think it's laptop a bit more to teenagers because of design, im asking this because I already have more than 30 years! :)
Cheers!

G75VX. Farcry 3 runs like junk on a GT 630m unless you turn everything down.

You can add an SSD .. you would have to have a copy of Win for this ..
and the 650 @ 4gb is no sloutch.
So around $300 to get there .. not much savings.

In the title you asked vx .. but in the descript .. you listed vw ...
I believe the difference there is one is a 670m and the other is 670mx ..
which as i understand is quite a difference.

That said: I would say vx with the 670mx with a 256gb SSD ?? DEAL !!!
Welcome to ROG.
btw .. Naz 'knows' stuff .. ur in good hands.c.

Ha, ha. I am older than 30 and not feeling shy when "rolling" my G75VX in front of the kids from the neighborhood.

I agree that at a certain point you will have to add a SSD to your system so instead of wasting time and searching get one with a SSD in it.

I think that G75VX is a way to go if besides work you would like to do some gaming as well.

ups my bad..it is a asus g75vx and gtx 670mx 3gb ddr5!!
asus n76vz dont have ssd but i can buy one for 150€ +/-! so 1170 + 145 = 1330
gt 650m vs gtx 670mx is really much worst?
gokica and you can transposed good laptop? many people say it is quite heavy and impossible to carry for other places :/

Yes it is quite heavy. You need a backpack to carry it around. It does not come with the laptop so add some money for the backpack as well. Good ones sell for 100 EUR but there are cheaper.

G75VX has a lot better cooling compared to N76VZ so it will be lot quieter under load.

670MX is a lot better card that 650.

Please note that you can not run serious 3d games on battery. The G75VX need to be plugged in to the wall (A/C) in order to reach full graphic card power. This is a limit that can save the battery when not plugged in.

g75VW or VX all the way there is no comparison between a GT graphics chipset and a GTX

plus, u get the SSD out of the box so u save on upgrading price later on

GT 650 is about 1/2 as fast as the GTX 670MX on a good day.

However the price you listed is way way way way over priced. Pick up a base line VX for around $1300usd then ass a SSD. The SSD will end up being better and faster then the stock and will save you some money.

Yeah the GT 650m can not even attempt to compare to a GTX 670mx

Yeah the GT 650m can not even attempt to compare to a GTX 670mx

Careful there. The GT 650m with DDR5 is a GTX 660m lol

The slower core clocks on the GT 650m use DDR5 where the faster ones use DDR3. But you can oc a GT 650m just as much as a GTX 660m

Now the GT 650m with DDR3 is not to bad but it will choke the card off at anything more then 720p really. And at 10920X1080 your going to take hits way harder on settings then if it was a GTX 660m, I mean for the prices you are looking at a 15inch Y500 with SLI'ed GT 650m's "DDR5" Are a much better bet and will get you close to stock GTX 670MX speeds but i'll sum it up for you like this.

GTX 670m = turd. Paying that much is pointless do not buy any VW its a huge rip unless the system is under $1,000 USD. For the same price you can get a VX and just curb stomp GTX 670m's all day long with a GTX 670MX. I mean for the price you can get other systems that are faster then the VX and also cheaper and get a HD 7980m that beats overclocked GTX 670mx's all day long.

If you get a G75 dont' look at anything other then the VX unless they are $1,000 usd or less. Thats a new price used don't pay more then $800

I agree as you mention Premiere and AutoCAD, you'll probably want to go with a 500 GB SSD for faster rendering

For Autocad stick with a 120-240gig SSD and put 32gigs of ram in it.
