SO i bought Asus g75v few days ago .
RAM 8GB
Core i7 3610QM 2.3GHz Quad
NVIDIA GTX 660m 4GB
HDD 750GB WIN8
I played some Battlefield online but my CPU is temp is like 70C 66C 69C 71C today.
Yesterday the maximum temp was 69C 64C 67C 68C , the main point is that day to day maximum CPU temp is increasing by a little.
I am kind of worried because someone said that if you CPU temp is exceeding from 70C then you are in a problem.
Please tell me some advice or a fix.

Temps will never be consistent. Many factors will make them higher or lower.

But one of the CPU is already over 71C , i think it is bad. I was playing BF3 on everything low.

Game temps mean nothing just like idle temps. 100% load temps is what matters. Thats with prime. The cpu has a max temps of 105c it will throttle its self and even shut down before it gets to how. Chances are you have the trademark Asus crap paste job so thats going to give you upto 10c higher temps then if they just spent 1/2 a second longer and put the past on right.

so what do you mean? exceeding over 71C is safe?

when you get close to 90C you got an problem

90C is bad for your grapich card (T injection)

So 85-90C is the limit?
Is it possible to upgrade video card? from my 660m to 670m?

I don't think so. If I remember right GTX 660m is keplar gtx 670m is Fermi (a rebadged and slightly OC'ed gtx 570m) and therefore not compatible. Aslo im not sure if the GPU is soldered on the G75 or not.

If i play BF3 on high settings , does it mean that my laptop CPU will overheat more?

I think that temps in the 70's are fine for the CPU (last time i checked anyway) and the GPU is supposed to technically be safe up to 100 (although i would start to worry in the high 80's).

I know that my old Phenom 955 had a max safe temp of like 71 degrees, but Intel chips generally run hotter but also have a MUCH higher heat threshold. I wouldn't worry with your CPU, those temps look fine to me. :) Someone else can chime in if im wrong but I wouldn't worry about it.

Your good, like i say those temps look 110% fine to me.

Not to ruin your day, but I really hope you didn't pay over $1250 for that G75. You can get the G75vx with the Nvidia 670mx for $1250.
