Howdy everyone, I've got a G75VX here with Windows 8 on it, and I'm FED UP with it. It's a total piece of s-.

Anyways, what would the steps be to install Windows 7 on it? I heard that the wireless adapter wouldn't work after a windows 7 install... which doesn't tickle my fancy, because I constantly use my wireless.

An help is appreciated, I am just tired of this "great" OS's bull.

I hear you there! My G55 came with Windows 8 and I HATED IT! I actually just sold my G55 for $100 more than I spent on it. :) ( newegg sales at its best) So when I ordered my Clevo P150em, you bet I selected Windows 7! As far as the wireless adapter not working, I highly doubt that it is only Windows 8 compatible. You will probably just have to find a Windows 7 driver for it, is all.

Now I can't install Win 7 on a blank HDD...

Depends which wireless chipset you get in your G75VX. If you get the broadcom 43b1 chipset, you can get Win7 compatible drivers here: http://www.asus.com/Networking/PCEAC66/#support_Download_29_DRPCEAC666309526Win7

Drivers are for a different device that has the same chipset & works great for me. There is a stickied post on this forum with instructions:

I think the other wireless chipset coming w/ the G75VX is an Atheros, and I believe it should work out of the box.
