HI
I have looked around the forums and have yet to find an answer. I would like to install a samsung 840 ssd for the os and use the 1 t hd drive for data. I would like to be able to delete the hidden recovery partition and have it on a USB stick for reinstall. I tried to use the windows 8 system recovery software and had problems. I have also looked at cloning the hd to the ssd but would like to be able to do a clean install. I am also thinking about finding a wind 8 iso and using that method. I found the thread on the ISO and that seems to be the best method. it seems so be Asus thought that we dont need a restore disk or usb drive but I really want an external source to install from if my hd or ssd dies.
Any suggestions on the best method of creating a external install disk from the restore partition or should I just find my self an
ISO and use that?
Thanks
Steve

You do not need the restore partition if you have an ISO.

The restore partition's only difference is that it is loaded with ASUS drivers and bloatware which you can install your self upon preference.
