Hey guys I just bought a Refurb G73 from Newegg. I was hoping I'd be able to play sc2 reasonably well. But my FPS is about 18 mid to late game on both MEDIUM and Extreme Settings. I believe all my drivers are up to date, I've used both asus auto update as well as downloaded the latest catalyst. My bios is 211 rather than 213 though. My temperatures also seem fishy with the THRM reporting over 100C idle.

Please help, thank you!

Can you check with GPU-Z or HWINFO64 and see what your vBIOS version is? If it's 012-017-xxxxx then you need to do an update.

I believe I have that version. But I have no GSOD problems, will the update raise my framerates? I did a gpu test and was getting 13fps with a high temp at 98C. I'm also getting in the 1X's (teens) for fps on sc2

the update will allow for using current releases of the amd catalyst drivers without crashes, which will give you better performance

I have the exactly same vbios version you said (012.017.xxxx).
What is this update we should do?
Is it the GSOD fix update? if so, could you please gi'me the link for the correct vbios version, cuz there's a lot of them and I'm a little confused :o

Download the 93vBIOS_OD.rar package, and follow the directions for making the bootable USB drive. Then add the contents of fix_od2.rar to the bootable drive plus ATIFLASH.exe from 93vBIOS_OD.rar. Run od2.bat from the C: promt when you boot to it.
