View Full Version : Team ROG Supreme OC updates

04-20-2013, 09:47 AM
Hello fellow ROGers and Team members,

I thought that it would be nice to have a thread about the status of the ROG Supreme OC on HWBOT... :) I'm thinking to post here the actual achievements and maybe a monthly update... (let's keep this thread clear and post the member- or scores-related subjects in other threads in this section of the Forum, thanks!)

And let's start with the newest achievement - we have reached the top 100 in Team rankings!:

Thank you to all Team members for the contributions!

Go Team ROG!!! sucks that I can't contribute more...if only I had my test bench and new rig built already, it's nice and chilly here for some good clocking

04-20-2013, 12:26 PM
No worries, Myk! We're only at the 99th place... - there is more room to contribute... (and there is no time limit :) )

No worries, Myk! We're only at the 99th place... - there is more room to contribute... (and there is no time limit :) )

True, i'm just sick of being broke all the damn time lmao

04-20-2013, 01:06 PM
Wait until you get married and have kids, MONEY becomes one of the things you used to have. A memory in other words.

Well done on the team.

04-20-2013, 01:15 PM
Well done on the team.

Thank you, Sir! In this result you had a very major contribution by organizing those competitions here, on the Forum... - so, again: THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

04-20-2013, 01:20 PM
So you saying you want another challenge?

04-20-2013, 01:23 PM
So you saying you want another challenge?

Any time!

04-20-2013, 01:26 PM
Consider it done.

04-20-2013, 01:32 PM
Awww c'mon at least give me 6 months(or so) to build my test bench and new rig before another comp :p  lmao

04-20-2013, 01:33 PM
Really appreciate that, HiVizMan!

04-20-2013, 02:19 PM

Here you go lads tuck in.

I will write up guides for each of the benchmarks and share them with those who participate via pm.

April is off, so here is an update about our Team on HWBOT... :)

We have collected in total 5191.9 points:

This was enough to place us as 92nd worldwide:

And on the 8th place in USA:

The member's points situation:

This time I took the title of "member of the month April", mostly due to the submissions with the Titans... flexjenl was incredibly active this month with not less than 93 submissions! :)

The Cups&Medals situation:

Thank you all for contributions! Let's keep this way and collect more points/medals/cups!
I'm expecting to have some nice submissions in 3DMark2001SE, AquaMark3, wPrime1024 as a result of the ongoing challenge...

05-01-2013, 10:25 AM
Also, we participated in ROG Supreme OC's first competition! (this worth a new post)

Seemingly from a total of 78 participating Teams, we scored at 29th place with a total of 108 points (max was 1392, min 1):

Here are the individual competitions, members and categories where we could score:

Super Pi 1M challenge - 32nd place with 32 points:

3DMark2003 - 28th place with 20 points:

3DMarkVanatge - 21st place with 56 points:

I think, it's not too bad for our first competition...

But we also have room to improve... - if we want to be more effective, we need to co-ordinate our future efforts for such competitions...
Seemingly, only the best scores from a Team counts in the final list... I think, for the future, it would be good to have our scores compared here on the Forum and then decide together who and what will submit... - just to have more fun and give chance to more members to participate and have some rewarding submissions...

Thank you all who participated!

05-12-2013, 12:12 PM
great idea boss :)

05-12-2013, 06:02 PM
Yes Boss!, very good idea, I didn't even know there was a competition going on so there's room to further improve our communication system :D

05-13-2013, 06:49 PM
Sorry, twisted1 for missing that competition... - actually we discussed about it here on the Forum and even had some dedicated threads about each challenge (in this section of the Forum):

Also, if you check the "Competitions" tab on HWBOT, you can always see the ongoing challenges...

But yes, I do agree with improving our communications! We're still a your Team, so there is more to learn... :)

05-13-2013, 10:22 PM
Thinking about how to plan for a contest is part of the fun. I have been part of a couple of winning teams in the past and communication was the key to all those success. Start talking about your hardware, post up benchmarks that you have done in testing with your different hardware and let your team mates comment and provide pointers how to improve. I would be willing to help with some of the tweaks and tips that make a good bencher into a great bencher if required. But let me just say you guys have done well with such a young team. You all can only get better.

05-13-2013, 10:26 PM
Thank you, Sir! Definitely we can use all the advices we can get...

06-01-2013, 04:46 PM
So, time has come for an other monthly update... :)

Out total points went up to 6097.75 and now we're #77 worldwide and #5 in US!

So, we have collected 905.85 point in April and advanced 15 places in the world rank and 3 places in the US rank... I think it's not bad at all!

We were busy with the ongoing Challenge here on the Forum, but still we managed to increase our Team's ranking... - we have been lucky too... HiVizMan decided to join our Team! Now we have not only a very good Mentor, but also a very strong Team Member too...

Here is our updated member's list:

I have to mention flexjenl again... he not only won the Challenge, but he also brought the second most points for our Team in this month... Also, henkenator68NL made most of the submissions this month... - congrats and thank you all!

06-03-2013, 10:23 AM
Thanks Zka!

We will keep the submissions comming (I have at least 4 more systems lying around in bits in pieces)!

06-03-2013, 03:48 PM
Good work guys..

Team running strong, and advancing..

06-21-2013, 03:24 PM
Zka, I wasn't a member when that competition started, so no wonder I missed it :D

Will frequent this forum more, and for the next OC Challenge at lest I know how to get Xp kind of working on the MVE now ;)

Lot's of submissions from our team now, great fun! :))

06-21-2013, 04:28 PM
All good mate, nice to have you joint the crazy gang.

06-22-2013, 09:20 AM
Thanks! :)

I fit right in in a Crazy Gang, feel pretty normal even ;)

06-22-2013, 12:18 PM
feel pretty normal even

Yeah, that's what al of us keep saying... :D

May I point your attention to a new benchmark until we will have the next Challenge: http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?33173-RealBench-Forum-League-Table-v1.0

06-22-2013, 05:52 PM
Hehe :D

Hmmm benchmark was no joke, heavy load on the poor cpu. Nice score Z :)

Seems like a high blck and pure mhz on mem sorta benchmark. Will get to testing some more. I'm getting rid of the H100i and getting a real custom loop btw, finally!

Planning on getting fullcovers for the matrix cards also.

And about RAM, it's the Samsung 1333Mhz - M378B5273CH0-CH9 that are the ones to go for correct? Damn, RAM prices have really gone up fast lately, best to get some asap!

06-22-2013, 11:32 PM
For benchmarking you want some more stronger RAM... remind me, what's your platform?

06-22-2013, 11:55 PM
Z77, Maximus 5 Extreme, 3770K

Those Samsung IC's OC to 2666 on pretty tight timings. Samsung makes alot of memory. It's in everything, and these are the IC's that alot of the really expensive high-end-fancy-heatsink 2666 kits come with.

They're just binned higher in the fancy kit's, however the Ic's are very good, and most of them OC very high from what I understand.

Hiviz know's if these are the right ones, i'm pretty sure they are but just wanted to confirm.

06-23-2013, 02:45 AM
Well, i can not say that I know those memory kits - never tried the Samsung ones...

However, a RAM kit which was tested for 1333MHz at CAS9, will be very hard to OC at 2666MHz... not impossible, but very hard... If you get a kit tested and certified at XMP 2666MHz it will depend only on your CPUs IMC... The fact that similar (not the same!!!) IC are in fancy kits, it does not mean that your particular one will go so high... there is a reason why your particular ones didn't got built in fancy kits...

With all those said, I do keep my fingers crossed, and I'm curious how high they will go...

06-23-2013, 04:13 AM
And there are the 30nm Samsung green low profile also, they're easier to get a hold of and remember these are very affordable sticks :)

The only diffrence is that Trident X 2400-2600 ie. that use samsung IC are binned IC's and like you said guaranteed to work at a given speed.

06-23-2013, 04:45 PM
I have 4 2GB sticks of low profile Samsung 1.35 volt, they will do 2600 on my M6E with the presets in the bios, I have not had time to experiment as I am packing everything up and moving to a new location soon, I paid $60.00 for 2 kits of 2X2GB at Microcenter. How could you go wrong at that price, I would like to know a good Hynix kit to purchase

07-05-2013, 11:40 AM
I'm a little bit late with this update... :(

It seems that our worldwide ranking still got better: now we're on the 75th place...

henkenator68NL is the member of the month in June:

Points of the members:

Cups and medals:

Congrats to Henk! Let's see if twisted1 can pass him this month... or somebody else... :D

07-05-2013, 11:45 AM
very nice buddy thanks for the update

07-05-2013, 12:32 PM
Gratz on the 75th placing folks. Well done!

07-09-2013, 11:09 AM
Impressive amout of point's collected by Detleg in such a short time, really good work :)

07-09-2013, 11:51 AM
Yes, Detleg is doing really well - as you do too! I took these snapshots a little bit later, so you are on the top for this month... well, again, you were when I took those pics... If you're trying harder, you can be the next member of the month...

07-09-2013, 09:48 PM
Congrats to Henk!*Thanks Z. !More to bench ... more to test, It is a wierd habit, but I love it. And when you think you found your limits.... Than you find improvements somewhere and new limits. The team is doing well! Really inspiring as well :-PLets go for top 50 for the team guys!

07-09-2013, 09:51 PM
Thank you very much!

The water loop is certainly helping with cpu OC, so there's room for improvement there, and lot's of room for learning about tweaking.

I'm even getting a slimmed bench install now, oh yes! And memory, I need to get som decent RAM sticks. Found a place that has those special samsungs in stock, getting those.

Got the good old Celeron D up on my ghetto bench, H100i for cpu cooling.

The amount and color combo of the cable ties are crucial for super pi I hear .. ;) lol

07-09-2013, 10:21 PM
Can't get any cuter than that lol. Did your daughter mount the CPU block? :p

07-09-2013, 10:53 PM
Hehehe, Nope it's all me :D

07-22-2013, 08:12 PM

Here you go lads tuck in.

I will write up guides for each of the benchmarks and share them with those who participate via pm.darn. missed this.. :(

07-22-2013, 08:23 PM
Have a read in the thread, you'll find all the info you need there.

Or the hwbot forums, guides over there too :)

Or ask anyone of us, only glad to help :)

07-23-2013, 06:02 AM
Yep twisted1.. Will do that this week.. Thanks for the info.. Oh and, don't worry about me asking.. Will trouble you a lot if you let me.. ;) :P

07-23-2013, 07:22 AM

DAMN YOU!!! I want one too :p congrats mate, hope it works well for you! :)

07-23-2013, 12:21 PM
Nice waterblock twist, Let me know how fast that card runs now..

guys, can we please keep this thread somewhat closer to the original topic, (Team announcements/updates)

07-23-2013, 05:27 PM
Yes sir, I might just have to start a thread with all my ghetto mods.

New ROG mb on the way btw, MV Gene, goin on the ghetto bench. Oh sorry off topic again!

08-02-2013, 01:35 AM
Just a little update of our Team...

We did collected 278.63 points in July!

And the member of the month July is Chino - congrats, Chino!:)

08-02-2013, 03:49 PM
Well done Chino and well done to all the lads for posting up scores.

09-01-2013, 03:05 AM
Here it comes September, it's time for a new update...

We have pushed our total points to 7088.99 from 6779.43 last month:

But others have pushed their scores too... we are still on the 76th place worldwide... - however the total number of competing Teams increased to 2525 from 2481...

I was pushing hard this month for the 1st place in the Enthusiast League (got only to the 3rd for now), so I could bring some points to our team too... Menthol, WhitePaw, henkenator68NL and flexnl did a very good job too:

Team contributions:

And Cups&Medals:

Thank you for all!

09-01-2013, 05:23 PM
Well Z. I think the big congrats go to you my friend !!! You are really flying up the ranks ! As for the comming month lets try to get even more points !! Good luck guys

09-02-2013, 02:34 PM
Looking good guys

09-02-2013, 03:20 PM
Soon colder outside, and i am going to get new VGA toys soon enough, so i am going to contribute the best i can, with ranks and scores for the team..

Has been a " low season" for me..

whats great is that i see many of the members that started of with mainstream scores, now putting up really high numbers, and new members really putting in some elbow grease to hit the higher ranks..
Its about having fun, and from my own experience, the numbers will follow, as time elapses, when new experience/knowledge is gained..
We all contribute from our own perspective, dont rush, or crash your budget on HW, its easy to kill a flame that way..
Its only a game..

Good work,,,,,,,,

Thanks for the update Z..

09-02-2013, 07:32 PM
Sorry for asking. But how does this all work and what is this exactly?

Sorry if this is a really stupid question.

09-02-2013, 07:41 PM
Nope no stupid questions mate only stupid answers. What it is - a global league of bencher's. There are about 30 K benchers all over the world that bench their hardware to different levels of madness.

Ambient, water and air cooling is one league.
Enthusiast that allows sub-zero and finally pro.

09-02-2013, 07:55 PM

here is some links/ info regarding the hwbot website..

Just drop me, Zka, or Chino a PM, if you wish to know more about this..

09-02-2013, 09:14 PM
Quick question, a few days ago I had over 600 points and now I don't. was it a mistake or did I get points removed?

I didn't screen the exact number or anything

09-02-2013, 09:20 PM
Yes, i see now you got around 260 team points, and that is very low considering your overall scores/ranks..

Drop Christan Ney a PM in the forum

There has been issues with scores, i know they have made some changes just recently (when it comes to HW points), so much i know..

And as far as the Bot scoring, i am still a noob, trying to understand it i must admit..

Some of my scores was also %¤#/&¤, i had to PM the Mod's, to get it fixed..
(score was too high)

09-02-2013, 10:52 PM

i have sent a PM to a hwbot mod, regarding your TPP..

09-02-2013, 11:45 PM
Menthol hit the recalculate button and your points should return. Failing that.

What you can do is check your top 16 Global results - add them up. And your top 20 hardware points. Do the totals and that is your actual amount of points. If the two totals tallied up equal your points then that is what it is. If not then there is an issue with the server. Most likely that the server is messed again.

09-03-2013, 02:03 AM
The thing, mates, is that the points we achieve on HWBOT are not something permanent... as soon as someone (from our own Team and other Teams) submits a better score, our score going down...

Sometimes can happen the opposite too... an example for that is the GTX780 submissions - now there are not too many hardware points for GTX780s as overall are few submissions... once the submission number increases, and assuming that none will submit higher score than some of us have, then the hardware points for this particular card will increase...

So, the bottom line is that if we stop benching/submitting new higher scores, then soon or later our points are going to go down as others are submitting higher scores...

09-03-2013, 02:09 AM
You got a point Z..

Like Titan, and 780, and so on, i think those scores is not as strong as many of the other vga,s..

Pro's run those top cards, often cherrys, and LN2. So i imagine the competition is harder, and will most likely be pinned down, faster than others. fast reward, easy gone..
Brands want to show off, among other things..

/ all scores take a dive, sooner or later.. more or less.

Some stick better than others tho..

Run for hardware/trophies , and global points..Mix

Browse the hardware library at the bot, check the competition on that card in particular..

Ps: yeah a global WR.. YIPPI.. ops gone in 1 hour..

[[[[Put your name on the map]]]]

09-03-2013, 03:09 AM
So it's Zka's fault, he top my score and took my points, I see how it is :)

No worry be happy

09-04-2013, 06:50 PM
Yeap, it was my fault that you lost some Team points... sorry...

Now 8 Pack submitted a high Vantage results, so my vantage global points with the Titan went down too... - c'est la vie...

09-11-2013, 02:04 PM
Secret it to not have people pass your scores.... :D

09-11-2013, 02:40 PM
I think you nailed it all in one sentence viz...........

09-11-2013, 04:26 PM
So that's the secret, maybe you could of told me that sooner

Arne Saknussemm
09-11-2013, 06:17 PM
I like to get back into the old "wet work" some weekends. Keep me hand in....Any of you need to make sure top score stays top score just leave an envelope for me with Trish at The Dog and Duck...'course, fattest envelope stays top...so be generous...

10-01-2013, 10:43 AM
Time for update...

During September we managed to increase our total points from 7088.99 to 7238.71:

With that, we managed to climb from out #76 worldwide position to #74:

I'm taking the title once again, however I wasn't able to improve my personal ranking (still #3 in Enthusiast League)... Menthol, flexjnl, henkenator68NL, WhitePaw and 5 more members contributed to this month's advance of our Team in worldwide ranking:

Team contributions - LOL, I did not see this coming... student takes lead over his teacher... I'm sure this won't stay for long as HiVizMan is reaching new WRs and submitting them:

Cups and medals:

Thank you for all contributions! Let's keep going...

10-12-2013, 06:18 PM
Hi guys, i'm comming from HWBOT and saw your team there, what i need to do to join you?. Thanks in advance.

Cups and Medals:

Thank you, guys - I like where we're heading!

11-02-2013, 11:43 PM
I thought i stop and say a hello, and thanks. I also joined yesterday. I believe during the recalculation lots of scores lost. Well, no big deal. I'll put them together! Hopefully i'll have new GPUs soon, bored of the 6950s
cheers ROG supreme!

11-03-2013, 01:39 AM
Mate, it's honor to have you onboard welcome!

11-03-2013, 04:08 AM

11-04-2013, 03:16 AM
Hi Zka17
I would like to join please. I need to get familiar with the whole HWbot rules and learn how to submit results and stuff but would love to contribute. :)

11-04-2013, 04:02 AM
browsed the ranks/scores today (a quickie), get happy every time, when i see new benchmarks, and experiences/progress being gained..

Guys, check your boxers for skid marks.....

Welcome to our new members!! ^^

Mean you are in the family already, now join.. ;)

Thanks Zolt for the update..

11-04-2013, 04:57 AM
In the past is was a minor effort, just to join the Team of choice at the bot, i dunno if work has been done since that..

Tips, Join hwbot, browse around, start with the simple benchmarks, just so you get the grip on how to submit a score.

Its not hard at all, its like playing Banjo, and holding your breath at the same time..

And we are there to help you, anything you need..

just post on the members wall, or at the Team page, or PM in here, or get some of our skype's, and so on..

Chino has made a great thread> http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?33885-A-Beginner-s-Guide-To-HWBot&p=273784&viewfull=1#post273784

its just like we doin in here when we having contests, the only difference is that you fill out a form, and press submit..

11-04-2013, 05:02 AM
I think the worst benchmark to fill out the form for, is PC Mark Vantage.....

11-04-2013, 09:50 AM
WhitePaw - Thank You for the linkage

Chino yo da man - thanks for the guide this should save me a boat load of time.

See ya's on the field

11-04-2013, 10:36 AM
meankeys, you're very welcome to join, mate!

11-04-2013, 12:11 PM
yes meankeys, what took you so long :D

11-06-2013, 04:14 PM
Hi Flex

I hope to start contributing soon

12-26-2013, 05:00 AM
You haven't been on much so I am going to post an update for the month of November if you don't mind. Won't be as thorough as your update but hope it's OK.
ROG Supreme is in 67th place worldwide with 8,211.45 boints

Member of the month of November is some guy who calls himself Menthol with 117.3 points, Arne, twisted1, flexjenl and Dartmaul and several others also contributed with a lot of points

The ROG team members are

And our Cups and Medals

We have a crap load of points so far for the month of December mostly thanks to Dagmar for once again taking time out of his own busy life for us. THANKS VIZ and way to go guys

12-26-2013, 12:01 PM
Menthol it is thanks to you buddy not me, I did one benchmark that gave us like 9 points dude. :)

But I am about to do some benching and will even post up scores for HWBOT for the team.

Oh congrats of member of the month once again. Huge respect for the results you produce my friend.

12-26-2013, 12:54 PM
Thanks for the update M.

01-06-2014, 08:34 PM
now that i am not working i am going to get you all : -)
just started posting the 3820 results, have to learn a lot more in the next days, and when possible get a cheap 3930k to play with 3d benching as what i have noticed is that the 3820 is not a very strong 3d cpu
anyway having trouble to bench with more than 5.150 mhz
cheers all

01-07-2014, 02:54 PM
hi guys
just learning how to use a 3820 i trade some time ago, so in 2d i dont have loads of problems to bench, still learning but getting there, my problem and i would like to have some opinions is with 3d benching, im not getting great results with this processor, is this normal or i just dont know what i am doing :-(
thanks for any help

01-07-2014, 03:04 PM
I think we go with you not knowing what you are doing for now. And that is how it should be. Just go over to the contest threads that we have been running and you will see how the guy, the experienced guys improved over five weeks. Some of these guys have been doing this sport of a few years now and they are still learning.

01-07-2014, 03:10 PM
yea was what i just thought its frustrating not getting a lot more then with a 8320 or 2500k for example ; -(
back to reading again, at least i have a lot of free time now :-(
thanks for your help
so with the 3820 under water what is the max vcore i can bench before burning the cpu? 1.65 under load?
i am asking this because i cant bench anything beyond 5150mhz (1.58V in bios) and past this i am stuck and have to up the vcore, but dont know the max
thanks again

01-07-2014, 03:35 PM
Mate what benchmarks are you trying to do right now. Each benchmark is different and requires a unique set of bios adjustments to get the maximum out of your system. Most benchmarks have some basic tweaks that can improve outcomes but once you get deeper into the sport you will see that each bench needs pretty much its own OS too.

01-07-2014, 04:12 PM
hehe ;-)
i am just a poor man trying to pass its free time ;-)
i understand that its needed a lot of tweakings for diferent benchmarks, i am just frustrated for no going over the 8320 or other cpus i have in a easy way
thanks for your help, will have to dig a lot more from the ground and see what i can do in the next weeks
thanks again for the support and sorry if i cant allways explain things all that well

01-07-2014, 04:32 PM
Nice to see that you're so eager to better your results Darkage, like Viz pointed out it takes time.

For me it's a whole new ballgame with all the tweaking and things that I never tried before.

I don't know a lot about X79 but I do belive Darthmaul had a 3820 before. Try and pm him perhaps?

The fist basic things when 3D benching is really setting upp CCC correct, everything off and force AA and tesselation off.

And LOD tweaking is a good place to begin, http://elmorlabs.com/index.php/software/

And start win in diagnostics mode, just be sure you run the futuremark service or else 3dmark wont run. Just type msconfig at the start button in win and you can access those settings.

Edit: You probably know all the above already, you're doing good at hwbot!

01-07-2014, 05:14 PM
hi twisted
yes i should try and have a chat with dart about the 3820 in 3d
i only hope i can get a cheap 3930 because the 3820 wont beat the new 1155 nd 1150 cpus

01-07-2014, 05:33 PM
Honestly there is no way that the 3820 will beat the IVY and Haswell processors clock for clock. Reason is quite simple 3820 is SB-E which was SB architecture. Both those processors are clock for clock quicker than SB.

You have put up some nice scores, and there is certainly room to improve in the two benchmarks I looked up. UC for example there is quite a bit (at least 80 points) that that can be gained just by tweaking the benchmark.

01-07-2014, 05:46 PM
i really dont aplly any tweak, as i dont know any for this benchmark : -)
what was the other?
any help is welcome

06 is going as is 05 and 01 trust me on that mate!!!

I have not posted 11 Single card yet but that is tasty!!!

Hoping to have all 11 and all 06 records by the end of this weekend we will see.

You organise ROG meet I will be there for sure. Maybe we could even do at OCUK???

02-01-2014, 09:51 AM
ROFL indeed and I know how much it burns our arse those two bloody records.

Yeah I will arrange it and I see no reason why we could not do it at OCUK. Let me keep talking to the powers that be about a LN2 ROG event in the UK and EU.

I am very glad to see you get that Catzilla WR

8 Pack
02-04-2014, 07:52 PM
Thanks Menthol. I saw you competing hard for it and doing very well and so long as ROG held the gold I would not have posted, When Ronaldo came in on LN2 it was time to act.

I have afew backups too just incase ;)

Did you test efficiency Haswell vs Ivy E. I must admit I did not but most with Physics test need the cores and threads.

02-04-2014, 08:49 PM
Thanks mate, my Haswell is not strong enough for benching, I wasn't going to succeed to him even if he was on LN2, you may have saved me from killing some hardware. I am glad it is in the family

02-05-2014, 11:44 AM
Looking good guys, looking very good.

02-05-2014, 06:06 PM
Rolling on towards the top (or should i say Rolling over the ranking with HiViz and 8 pack's achievements. ) Nice job. Now its time for us to get busy again!

02-05-2014, 06:10 PM
By the be way is Catzilla really asking 50$ to able al to post and run 1440 benches? Steep price if so.

02-05-2014, 06:43 PM
By the be way is Catzilla really asking 50$ to able al to post and run 1440 benches? Steep price if so.

I think it sucks that you have to pay to be able to even participate, and posting scores in 720p is really buggy, I still haven't been able to post a score.

02-05-2014, 06:53 PM
Actually if you think about its very weird!

It seens to be targeted at HWBOT contestants..... Most Benchmarks are more than happy with the HWBOT attention an taking al the free publi****y they get more customers. So its wierd that we have to pay more in this case ...

02-05-2014, 08:39 PM
Advanced edition of catzilla (1440p and HWbot upload) costs 4.99$ now.

02-05-2014, 08:42 PM
Yeah, I wonder how many licenses Futuremark would sell if they didn't have us benchers.

The heavy hitters over att hwbot probably got stocks in catzilla ;)

02-05-2014, 08:43 PM

Me buy now!

EDIT: Where did you see it at that price? Catzilla website says 10.99 euro

02-05-2014, 08:50 PM
Yes it is 10.99 Euro. The price that Dart saw is actually $14.99 but the page is not optimised correctly.

02-05-2014, 08:52 PM

LOL I suspect the same !!

02-05-2014, 09:03 PM
Darn... Anyway, I already purchased it myself.
But still, 15 is not 50.

02-05-2014, 09:53 PM
An did you have to pay 50 ????
That i rediculous. I read (Steam ciommunity) that Catzilla was also going to be available on steam, but I couldn't find it.

Also I read some thing about an IRC channel that supposed to be opened by catzilla, but if that is true I am not sure. And if that is true I am nt sure if its bad, but it is at least worth a closer examn

02-06-2014, 06:04 PM
well even futuremark is not all about free benchmarking dont Forget
5>>10 euros is fair i think

02-06-2014, 06:53 PM
well even futuremark is not all about free benchmarking dont Forget
5>>10 euros is fair i think

It's not really about the money, or catzilla.

I don't like the fact that hwbot has a bench that you have to buy to be able to use.

02-06-2014, 06:58 PM
An did you have to pay 50 ????
No, I payed 15 (or like so, I don't recall exact price)
The sad thing is catzilla is not that funny to bench. So I purchased only for scoring on HWbot.

02-06-2014, 07:30 PM
you are right twisted, but : -(

02-06-2014, 08:00 PM
you are right twisted, but : -(
That's right until you remember the price of all your hardware and realize that benching isn't free in any way)

The worst about catzila is not the price (or the fact it's a paid benchmark). Is the fact you payed for this software and still has to use their crappy buggy web page to submit your results to bot.

02-06-2014, 08:04 PM
You are right Dart,

The front end of the site is buggy to say the least. Its a shame, putin so much work and miss the fnishing touch.

But I bought the advanced version anyway, it was indeed 10,99 euro's

Anyone still here, how about a new team member -->me<-- I don't have the scores you guys do but I love benching..

It's open for anyone to join, I had no points when I started. We all do it for the love of benching.

Always nice to see new members sharing the same hobby.

There are threads about optimizing different benches, and if you can't find what you were looking for. Just start a thread and you'll get lot's of help! Welcome to ROG OC Supreme!

That is all that you need abvolt....I had zero to start with too....joining the team, taking part in HiVizMan's contests etc....having fun....soon gets you some points

04-16-2014, 08:45 AM
Abolt welcome to the team. I did not have any points when I started. Now I am up to 400. Like any hobbie I am in to it cost money but I have to say this is one of my favored. good luck

One thing If I could make a suggestion your not allowed to beat any of scores lol jk

Anyone still here, how about a new team member -->me<-- I don't have the scores you guys do but I love benching..

Welcome on board man! As the others have said, any questions just ask and i'm sure you'll get a point in the right direction! ;)

We've also got a Skype channel that some of us use which is handy for the odd question or discussion. One of the chiefs should be able to sort you out on that one.

Nice setup you've got there, should get some good points out of it! :)

Be careful to follow the rules for submissions. Your CB15 needs cpu-z in the screen shot, Fire Strike needs cpu-z/gpu-z, HWBotPrime needs to show the score (you can move the save window out of the way). Made simple mistakes like this myself before and there's nothing more annoying than having to run again, especially if on water and you've already pulled the card!

Add 3D11 & Vantage to the benches and you've got easy points straight away with that setup, disable lane 3 and run again in single gpu to double up. ;)

04-16-2014, 09:49 AM
Anyone still here, how about a new team member -->me<-- I don't have the scores you guys do but I love benching..

That is excellent that you are going for it!!
Start with current scores, but have all opportunities to tinker, test, try, fail and succeed. This will gain you insight, knowledge and points...
The team is here to help, assist and share info!

But a little warning... It might get messy...

04-17-2014, 10:43 AM
Abvolt, we all will be happy to have you onboard!

Henk, your system is falling apart... :D

04-17-2014, 11:22 AM
Yes, welcome to the ROG brotherhood Abvolt.

It's pretty amazing how this little team has grown and how good we're doing in the rankings(thx 8Pack ;)). Generally looking at rankings we have very high efficiency, often competing with people on extreme cooling. We can probably thank Hiviz and the competitions he's held for us for that.

Great work everyone!

My Striker II Formula took a crap on me but I found a Striker II Extreme with a dual core cpu and I had a Q6600 in my old board so I will be doing some benching with this older hardware till I get my 2 R4BE boards fixed. I also picked up a Z87-K board to play with Haswell I still need to find a cpu yet but that will be down the road a bit. Got the board on ebay for 65 bucks. Does anyone know if this board is any good.

Two broken R4BE? What did you do to them? :P

Benching S775 is fun, I've been doing that too lately, I've hit a wall at around 400Mhz FSB though(because of my 800Mhz RAM) I'm looking around for a used DDR3 s775 board so I can use the PCS ram :) :)

05-06-2014, 09:34 AM
Hi Pete
My striker 2 formula would not post do to missing resistors on the bottom of the board. Comparing the two boards I noticed this problem. Its an old board and must of happen moving the board around all those years. these resistors are on the bottom of the board. my first R4BE had a bad #1 dimm slot and the second board would not post at all. I finally have a good board everything seems to be working great.
