With this new laptop G75VX I want to add a BLue Ray player/writer to it.
Now I see in the Asus store the
Blu-ray Burner Super Multi Combo Drive (UJ240) (seems iike a Panasonic )

Now I have this one

M a t s h i t a UJ260 UJ-260 6X 3D Blu-Ray Burner Writer BD-RE BDXL DVD RW Slim Drive
Panasonic
Would I be able to use this one as well? or will I damage my laptop if it's not the right model?
I did a search for UJ-260 and it comes up as Panasonic as well.
Could be just an imitation... it came from China.

edit: put spaces in the name, otherwise you see **** lol

yes it will fit. its a newer model / version of uj240.
do consider also the LG brand BT20N or BT30N. its slightly cheaper

ok, Memory came on today.. so while the back was open, replaced the dvd drive..

so my machine is 24 Gb mem and the UJ-260 in place...
Did get a heart attack when the laptop didn't boot up the 1st time... all I had was the logo and the dots going around in a circle for about 5 minutes..
But it did boot, so idk why it took so long..
Could it be of the memory?
I ran a mem test through crucial.com and it mentioned that it was 1.3 V
and the mem sticks I received we're 1.5V (got them from newegg.com link was in another thread with the mem sticks)
