There are several sources online talking about the ASUS G75VW having 802.11AV WiFi but where is it?

I just got my G75VW a few days ago and it only has 802.11B/G/N....

I was expecting Broadcom 802.11AC but I got Qualcomm Atheros 802.11 B/G/N.

What's going on?

Thanks for any information.

There are 2 kinds of g75vx models. One with Broadcomm 802.11AC and a Qualcomm Atheros 802.11BNG
I assume you probably bought one with a Atheros card. I currently have the AC one.

Where did you buy yours? I don't even see it as an option anywhere.

Thank you.

Edit: I actually found a G75VW Newegg with 802.11AC.. Funny thing is that it's actually a less equipped model. I bought the ASUS G75VW-DH73-3D and it has just about every option on it so I find it surprising that they didn't put the 802.11AC network card in it as well. Bummer..

Looks like adamsyes was referring to the G75Vx model instead of G75Vw, so we need to watch out for this too.

Yeah, as far as the G75Vw goes in the U.S., there are a lot of different versions, so you need to be careful to check that the G75Vw extended model name you plan to purchase has everything you want.

It didn't even occur to me at the time that it wouldn't come with 802.11ac but I can live without it.
I completely failed to make sure of it before I placed the order. I was more concerned with processor speed, video card, SSD drive and RAM and overlooked the WLAN options. It's strange that it isn't a standard feature.
