Hi..am looking for an additional power adapter (the location I use the laptop in is a pain to get to the AC outlet to move the original adapter with the notebook). From other posts it appears that the G55 supply is the same model with same output. Dell has a power supply with the same part number as the G75vx (FA180PM111) but the connector is wrong. Does anyone have any recommendations for an additional/replacement supply and can someone confirm the size of the connector on the original model (I'm thinking I could just get a tip adapter for the Dell version)? Thank you.

Welcome to ROG.
This is not an endorsement of the later two sites .. just search result.
It appears that the vw and vx adapter are the same .. if so, then ... ect. ect.

Thank you, very helpful. It's odd that Asus does not appear to sell the exact same adapter that came with it (9.23a vs 9.5 in the online store). But the alternative links you posted are helpful, and if I can confirm that the vx and vw are the same connector--5.5mm, 2.5mm, I'll be good to go.

PM (Private Messege) @cl-Albert (cl=customer loyalty/an Asus 'guy') he is a G/laptop Guru/Master
as well and will undoubtedly know the answer to this.

As yourself most here have one or the other and would probably not know the answer to this ..
although there are some great Custom Shop Owners .. ShawnNEPC .. ie .. comes to mind .. and
others that, if they catch this thread would know. ( hahah .. and 'some' of the Asus 'guys' .. hehe)

fyi.
1. eStore now lists the same 19V, 9.5A 180w adapter for the G75VW under the G75VX model too if you want to check this link (http://us.estore.asus.com/index.php?l=product_list&c=3732) although it still shows out of stock.
They should be coming in fairly soon from what I've heard, so you may want to check the site again for updates later next week.
You can also check the ASUS 'where to buy' (http://www.service.asus.com/#!where-to-buy/c1yul) for U.S. and Canadian resellers who should be able to get the ASUS adapters and may even have better pricing.

2. If anybody cares, the voltage (in Volts of course) multiplied by current (in Amps) equals the electrical power (in Watts).
So, 19V x 9.5A = 180W for the G75VW adapter
and 19.5V x 9.23A = 180W for the G75VX adapter.
Since they are using the same plug size, we aren't worried about the 0.5V difference between these 2 adapters as long as the wattage is the same.

Hope this helps!

Hey everyone,

I recently bought an Asus G75VX and would like to find a backup power supply to leave at my office so I don't have to pack/unpack one all the time.

There hasn't been an update to this thread since May. Any cheaper options for a power supply than ordering one from Asus?

Thanks.

I bought my G75VX about a month ago with no power adapter. I picked this one up off ebay for under $60...

It works perfectly.

There is also this one for $37, though I don't know what the quality is.

When I asked about ebay power adapters at the time (on this forum), One of the asus guys on here told me they would both work since the voltage, wattage, and amperage are the same.

Both are much cheaper than factory.

I would recommend this one, it's official Asus OEM and a newer slimmer version from the old ac adapters.

It took me forever to find this as a replacement after my G75VW adapter died.

I have a g75vx laptop. a year and a half ago the AC adapter went out, so I purchased a new one from the Asus e-store.
The new one had the same failure in 6 months, but the e-store only gives a 3 month warranty, so they are telling me I need to buy
another $112 AC adapter.

I have been using Asus products and recomending them for years, and I now must stop as their service and products quality seems to be slipping.
